Very informative, shows how things are done and explaining clearly.
This course was funded by a wildly successful Kickstarter.
This is a retro games masterclass! Learn to code in C# by making a game from scratch. Use Unity 2017 and Adobe Photoshop CC.
In this course, game developer Glauco Pires from Mammoth Interactive teaches you how to build a game in Unity . This course is unique because we make both the code and the art for the game from scratch. We teach you the fundamentals of designing, coding, and fine–tuning a game.
Let’s make a complete game! Learn to code, make art, and add sound to build a full action–adventure game.
First you design the game and its functionality in Unity . You learn how to code in C#. Don’t worry if you’ve never coded before. We start simple and add more to the game as the course goes on. We interweave theory with practical examples so that you learn by doing.
Mammoth Interactive game designer Kevin Liao teaches you everything you need to know about Photoshop to make game art. One of the best features is that you can watch the courses at any speed you want. This means you can speed up the or slow down the video if you want to.

The game designed in this course is an excellent bare bones game with a lot of potential for expansion and improvements. It’s a little floaty with the default controls you implement through the lectures, but this presents itself as a good opportunity for challenge if you wish to refine the game to have tighter controls and better reflect the game it takes its inspiration from. If you have some experience using Unity, you can just skip the introductory sections and skip right to building the game, you’ll miss absolutely nothing important, which is good. There’s also lectures on designing the game assets in Photoshop, but these can also be skipped if you decide to use the pre made assets available in the course, so you can really come into this course knowing what you want and save a lot of time. Overall, this was a very brief and enjoyable course for me. I plan on taking lessons from this course as well as other retro inspired courses to create a large game that draws on concepts from many different projects. 5/5 This review was written and posted 1/7/2018

I know nothing about Unity, and this course is at the right level for me (it starts from the ground up). Looking forward to watching more video lectures in the course!
