Good overview of the basics. Some things might go over a beginners head like the React Node and Mongo stuff, but like the Instructor said, it’s imperative that you go over these things on your own by looking up the documentation online. So why only a 3 star rating? 1. Extremely annoying intro music/noise at the beginning of most videos. Yeah, I get it, you are DevSlopes, cool beans, but you don’t need to blast our ear drums with your intro and exits. Some videos had very pleasant music, but most had a deafening blast that would wake the dead. 2. Go back and fix your mistakes in videos. One of the CSS videos had a completely false explanation of using rbga() for setting the color for box shadows. The instructor claimed that the numbers within rgba stood for border shadow color, box color, background color, and transparency. The numbers within rgba() for box shadows or any other element, is simply red, green, blue, and alpha. The first number stands for red, followed by green, blue, and then opacity. So rgba(0,0,0,.5) is a black box shadow with 50% opacity, and rbga(255, 0, 0,0 .75) is a red box shadow with 75% opacity. The video never corrected the mistake, and it was never address in future videos, so now I’m wondering if there was any other information was false but never corrected. 3. People have been asking questions, but getting no responses. I had issues with the last video, and a few others had questions too, but none of those were answered, and these questions were asked a year or more ago. It made me realize that asking a question was pointless. I was lucky that I figured out the issue and finally got my React Swag Shop app working. I would criticize that the videos are a bit out of date, since installing mongo and running it has change, but that’s not the instructors fault. Technology changes so much, and the instructors were very careful about explaining that you need to look this stuff on your own, which I appreciated. Overall I’m fairly satisfied at the good overview this course provided and I did learn new things along the way. I’m also glad I bought this course during a Udemy Sale!

The teaching is good and easy to understand but sometimes same code shown in video lecture does not produce the same result like for eg media query was not working unless i used meta tab in head.

I m not going to lie, finding the motivation and time to push past the CSS after doing it 3 times after several month long breaks was hard. But the motivation and interest has been supercharged once I got to the navbar and the website looked better and started having interactive function and not just static words. Really good so far, I recommend anyone struggling to keep going to keep going. It becomes more fun when you start adding functionality. Just sit through the other parts and buckle down.
Tariq albusaidi –

great! very clear and understandable.
John Velez –
I have only watched 2 videos but so far it seems like a great fit as far as clarity with the explanations. Sometimes understanding code explanations can be very confusing and overwhelming especially for beginners but it seems like things will be paced out and thoroughly explained which is a great benefit for my learning style.
