Who Should Learn Apache Groovy?
I am going to teach you everything you need to know to start using the Groovy programming language. This course is really designed for 2 different types of people and I think you will both benefit from it. If you re a beginner programmer with a some experience in another language like Python or Ruby, this course is for you. Dynamic languages are generally thought of as easier for total beginners to learn because they re flexible and fun. If you re an existing Java Developer (Beginner or Experienced), this course is also for you. For a complete beginner with Groovy the course is not so optimally structured and formulated. That being said, it still contains valuable information. Also, using a code editor, where you can open multiple files, instead of Groovyconsole would help follow the course a bit better.

Really enjoyed the course. I am a COBOL programmer with over 20 years experience so this language is so different to what I am used to, but this course was easy to follow and although I think if I knew Java it would have been easier to do the exercises, it has certainly a given me a good introduction and now I feel I have the tools to start coding in Groovy.
