Irfan: I think it’s really important to note in your course description that students will need to spend US$89 for the Balsamiq wireframe software. This came as a surprise to me. Your course is excellent and I will probably spend the money. But it was confusing.

Half way there Course going well. I am starting to guess what is coming next, make less typing mistakes, and getting better at identifying why something isn’t working and fixing it. jQuery syntax (all those brackets! / punctuation / strange case convention) is still a mystery Completed course overall rating by 2021 it is rather out of date. Most of the course is Bootstrap 3 and Bootstrap is now on version 5. Tutor concentrates on what to do, not why we do it. This is less teaching, more learning by example. Tutor’s use of English a bit flat and repetitive. But still, he knows his stuff and this was a decent primer on HTML/CSS, if a bit of a drag.

This course helped me to expand on my HTML skills and to learn and understand how CSS, JQuery and Bootstrap works. The CSS, Bootstrap and JQuery technologies were very well described and demonstrated impressively for anyone who never used these three pieces of tech like me for my upskilling by learning new technologies that I only touched upon in the past. The course was easy to follow and the concepts were highly intriguing which were explained clearly. Overall, an excellent course which I would highly recommend to those who want to learn new skills whether they are new to web development or if they want to build up their skills from what they have learned when previously using HTML for example to expand their knowledge.

The presentation is well done and you don’t feel you have missed something after going through each topic. I did raise a question which was not answered, though I have taken another web programming courses where that happened and the course material was not as good as this with some material being over explained and other material poorly explained.. Remember there is no server side material with this course but it is the best course for web programming I have taken so far. The original course was about five years ago and I am not sure the recent update is as comprehensive as it could be but if you are starting out this course in my view is as good as any and will take you a long way. My only reservation is if you need to ask questions I do wonder whether you will get a reply. I only felt the need to ask one question but if you need to ask a lot I wonder whether you will get reply and being stuck on a distance learning course with no help can be a real killer. The tutor makes many comments about supporting you but, as I say, I think the origins of this course are a few years old now and his focus may be elsewhere. Be aware the course uses Brackets code editor which I found problematic and gave up on. I used Sublime instead though the live preview option did not work initially and was a bit of a fiddle to get running.
