Overall course is very good, plenty of tips that you’ll not find elsewhere. However, my issue with course is that it’s not exactly what I expected. I was looking for best practices of dockerizing Node.js project, mainly for development environment. While I did found some solid advice, it just felt different kind of course. What I was interested in was things like how to deal with node modules (got the answer), best practices to setup integration tests involving creation/dropping of database (not found any answer with that). So for me this course is more like Docker tips you didn’t knew, the part of Node.js and development is kinda lacking. To rephrase it a little bit, I feel that there’s a lot of things lacking for someone who’s interested in development workflow first (as opposed to Docker mastery) with desire to setup everyday local development environment (dev setup, integration testing setup with proper database configuration…) according to best practices.

This is my first Docker course, and it was a great fit for a beginner. You’ll learn tons of useful things about Docker generally, and specific tips for Node.js development. The course scores with tons of examples and also opportunities to practice. The instructor is knowledgeable about the subject and is able to break down concepts into manageable bits. The production quality is good and I enjoyed the mix between slides and video screen. Bret Fisher has certainly spent some time to create a high quality course.

I had to do some digging to get the correct installs for my environment. But i got a clear explanation of what the minimum versions necessary where for this course and it was smooth sailing!

This is my second Docker course, after Docker Mastery. I’m really loving your teaching style.
Jesse Zahrt –
Good hands on examples, near the end there seemed to be more discussion than hands on examples.

Awesome course. Bret is really an expert. Although I use NodeJS and Docker for quite some time I learned a lot of new stuff.

I get that he is trying to show every step of how to setup node with centos. But ideally, I would like more official solution not like hopefully this succeeds because if docker finishes the chances are it succeeded
