A picture is worth a thousand words . It is true that concepts are easily understood when explained with the help of diagrams. In today’s data–driven world, it is very important to make the best use of available data in such a way that useful insights are derived from it. Data visualization is the easiest and fastest way to make it possible. D3.js is a popular JavaScript library for manipulating documents in the context of data data. D3 stands for Data Driven Documents. D3 helps you bring data to life using HTML, SVG, and CSS.
D3 allows you to bind data to a Document Object Model, and then apply data–driven transformations to the document. Elements can be added, removed, or modified according to the contents of the data set. For example, you can use D3 to generate an HTML table from an array of numbers or even use the same data to create a horizontal bar chart using SVG. D3 combines powerful visualization and interaction techniques with a data–driven approach to DOM manipulation.
D3.js in Action: Build 17 D3.js Data Visualization Projects is a 100% practical hands–on course that teaches you D3.js from scratch using the latest available version V5. All concepts are explained in a very detailed and easily understandable manner. The instructor codes along instead of explaining the concepts with already prepared code samples. By completing this course, you will be confident enough to develop D3.js Data Visualizations on your own from scratch.

I never rate a course halfway through but I am really impressed with this course. I need to learn D3, but I find it really difficult because I don’t have an extensive background in javascript. What makes this class absolutely brilliant is the teacher’s ability to break everything down into essential fundamental concepts. She totally understand this subject, so she can explain everything completely. Amazing This is a really great class.

This is about the fundamentals of D3 which is exactly what I wanted, and I think it is worth doing. The course team is very responsive albeit initially without clarifying the problem making the initial answer confusing. Examples cover a range of basic Data Driven Documents, but these felt quite fragmented and certainly missed many opportunities to build on previous work. I also personally felt too much time was spent with general knowledge (from basic maths) rather than discussing D3 specifics, such as D3 functional idioms (lots of closures and higher order programming). This was made more difficult by the fact the transcript was junk, so relies the audio alone which I found challenging at times when it did venture into technical aspects. I like to measure a course by my confidence at the end and unfortunately the course leaves me uncertain when trying to make my own fairly small changes.

I have been struggling while using D3.js as examples usually do not explain in detail. You, instructor, are explaining it very easy. I cannot thank you enough for your explanations and how you clarify many doubts I had.
