Helped explained parts of Qt I hadn’t gotten around to figuring out, like Qt’s threads. Actually had a case at work where I realized what a co worker was doing wrong with sending messages across threads with signals and slots.

First of all, thank you for giving this simple example to understand better. It is a good video with simple example to understand the concepts.But i do not understand how it works. In the first video,Application thread and current thread are same.How it is same.Stack size is zero.If the stack size is zero,then where it is actually stored. To add more spicy on this topic,in the 2nd video, application thread and object we created for a class also the same.How it is running in the same thread.when we call the slot(start), thread is not running.why. Then, you created a new thread object and moved the class object to this thread.Now the start method is called and running.You could not move the thread to application object as you said that it has parent object.so we could not. You have created a shared ptr to delete the Thread object explicitly since memory will not be handled automatically. Overall, I think I need to watch it for 2 to 3 times and try to understand better.

I come from the intermediate course and his didactics only got better now in the Advanced Course. One thing that I really like is that Bryan makes some mistakes, just like the rest of us, talks about it and fixes them in the videos. This helps so much to understand what can happen and why, sometimes, a concept that looks right isn’t really the best.

Yes. I did the 2 earlier courses to try to get up to speed with Qt. Threading is what I am really interested in learning. I learned a lot from all 3 courses and no doubt I will carry on referring to them in the future. I love the way we are witness to the code being built and run. Too many courses gloss over this and just present the code with no real explanation. These courses are very good with explanations. I am looking forward to the gui courses when they come out. I am experimenting with it now but some expert tuition would be useful. However, what I have learned so far has been very helpful in developing small gui applications.
