Delphi is one of the most popular IDE for cross–platform native app development. It helps you to focus on the real business and avoid the pain of going through amid GUI widget details or inter–platform incompatibilities. So, if you want to build native cross–platform apps with a single codebase for iOS and Android, then you should surely go for this Learning Path.
Packt s Video Learning Paths are a series of individual video products put together in a logical and stepwise manner such that each video builds on the skills learned in the video before it.
The highlights of this Learning Path are:
You will begin this learning journey by getting accustomed to the Delphi IDE and the Object Pascal language. You will then familiarize yourself with JSON format strings, XSLT transformations, Unicode encodings, and various types of streams. The Learning Path then moves on to more advanced topics such as developing higher–order functions and using enumerators and RTTI. You will then go through topics such as multithreading, using the parallel programming library, and putting Delphi on a server. Finally, you will take a look at the new feature of WebBroker Apache modules and then ride the mobile revolution with FireMonkey..

Do not waste your money!!! I have had previous experience with Delphi but have not used it for a while and I’ve never used FireMonkey. So, I bought this course thinking it would give a good refresher and teach me something new. I very quickly found it very frustrating to use. The speaker is going continually and as soon as he has finished saying one thing, he moves straight on to the next thing. He is not going through the code with you as he writes it. One second there is nothing there the next ‘here’s the complete code’. You don’t get chance to see it properly as he scrolls quickly between the lines code and I am trying to follow it on a PC with Embarcadero installed and it is near impossible. Believe me I have tried several times. There is code appearing in there that hasn’t been explained, absolute joke. He is basically telling you that you can do this and that, but not really giving you any opportunity to understand how he did it or copy it down. I started this course with high expectations of learning something new, the only thing I learn’t is not to spend money on the Packt Publishing again!!! I have now given up on this course and will not continue it.

Mieux vaut acheter le livre, cette video est une repr sentation de celui ci tr s m diocre. Certaines sessions restent quand m me int ressantes, mais sans le livre ces vid os n’apportent rien de r ellement concret

Excellent when viewed on desktop but video is too small for iPad. Maybe could have do some zooming in to the object inspector’s properties fields so that the course can be followed on a mobile device.

just like a reading machine. not helpful at all

This is more of look what Delphi can do ..click this..set this value to … with little to no explanation why as compared to knowledge transfer. There certainly is a fair amount of topics covered however. Certainly nice for beginners to the language.

More Interactive pictures are needed instead of paragraphs talking about it. I would suggest the part from Anonymous code to the end of the video to be redone by the tutor as nothing is clear. Threading should be explained by pictures, as you can’t say for example the task will be implemented from the inside, inside what? I didn’t get anything from the threading part as well. I am stopping here to start with another course and I will check it back once I already know enough about what the tutor was explaining.

Instructor going to fast. Not adequately explaining code.

This is a not a course for beginners to Delphi at all. I bought this course seeking an introductory tutorial. The tutor is too fast verbally and on screen. Code is just pasted without being explained properly. It is a good course for those well versed with Delphi. However, the way the course starts, showing Installation of the program and so forth, assumes that it is meant for newbies but this is quite misleading. The course material for download does not tally with the video tutorial sequence either. This was not a good buy for me. 🙁

No encuentro los ejercicios que pueda bajar y seguir. El instructor habla demasiado r pido y las cosas siento que aparecen por arte de magia

It is definitely interesting but gets a bit boring with unnecessary information redundancy. Not for beginners, helps to have a bit of knowledge about Delphi.
