This is the first of many online courses I will take this year this year. The instructor, Eric, obviously put a great deal of time in creating a course that is very clear but more importantly very hands on. Specifically, I really liked the way Eric combined his lectures with the hands on step by step setup of the development environment. Even as Microsoft would produce unexpected popups, updates, etc, Eric simply took it in stride and explained why the popup/warning, etc was appearing and the action he was taking to move forward with the task at hand. The course does what it promises. If you want to know what tools Microsoft has available for you to use, this is a small, simple and clear introduction. The instructor talks in a clear voice and updated the course with tools, while I was taking it weeks ago. It might not matter to you, but I noticed it and appreciated a lot. Side note: every contact with instructor was answered. Sometimes in minutes 🙂 (lucky we were online, in course, at the same time) 🙂

This is a great course. The course has a good pace. The instructor is clear and easy to follow. I experienced some challenges getting Microsoft SQL Server Express set up and running. There are solutions to the challenges setting up MS SQL server, and other Microsoft products, published on various Microsoft websites. Take the course and don’t get too discouraged if you experience challenges setting up the software you’ll use with the course. Fixing the challenges makes the course that much more fun!
