Perhaps you want to start creating professional web sites. Maybe you want to start a small freelance business or take control of your own business web site. Maybe your a designer dipping a toe in to the digital world. Or, perhaps, you just want to learn to develop complete sites in WordPress the right way.
Whatever your reason if you want to learn the in’s and out’s of WordPress, this course is for you.
This isn’t a course that teaches you how to type content in to existing WordPress themes! This program is designed to give you full command of the WordPress environment so you can make dynamic web sites that look anyway you want and are easy to update and maintain. You’re diving DEEP into WordPress discussing theme development, mobile ready sites, templates and much, much more.
You’ll work with WordPress expert Mark Hannon as you develop your WordPress skill set. This course launches quickly as you jump right into developing your own, unique, WordPress theme. (No more boring, poorly executed templates!)
This isn’t a course where you’ll simply watch Mark go through the procedures. You’ll be invited to work along with Mark step–by–step to make sure you remember and can apply every concept demonstrated. Speaking of hands on learning, the course is loaded with lab exercises and examples to help you immediately apply the skills that you’re learning.

Well, If I am a beginner lot of steps to complete Lecture 4 / installing WordPress locally would be a night mare as many steps is not mentioned.

Very frustrating. You spend 20 30 minutes following a video and suddenly things don’t make sense. Then you realise the instructor has rolled back to an earlier stage of the video without editing or informing the viewer. This happens again and again in the same video. It’s a pity because the curriculum is comprehensive, but the instructor has made a near zero effort to iron out the errors made during recording.
Ziane Maamar –
he’s slow at writing and explaining

Good match for me. I am a beginner. The instructor was easy to follow even though I have 10 vs his MacBook Pro. I am also using WordPad vs Brackets. Instructor is fantastic.
Anthony Jones –
There are a number of programming errors already, and he’s only just started writing the theme.
Shahanawas Alam –
thanks for your tutorial 🙂

So far the course is interesting and on point, I’m happy, you guys will be the second to know if I become displeased, gotta be fair and let the instructor know first to be certain I’m not misunderstanding the content or misunderestimating (thanks W) his teaching skills
Paul Knuth –
So far the course is good.

Overall: Content was good! Definitely was what I was looking for. The whole course needs to be re edited. There were quite a few moments in the audio which clearly were meant to be edited out but weren’t, e.g. stopping a sentence and saying pause before re starting it. Hard to see/read the code as it is very small text, so zooming in on the screen while typing out the code would be helpful. Volume is pretty low in some lectures Some section specific comments: 13. Understanding the WordPress page templates A section of the course repeats: creating the functions.php file and creating the custom page template 15. Sidebars and widgets A section of the course repeats: creating the register sidebar() function in functions.php

That’s a great course ?

Course is a little old and needs to be updated.

I like to know why I take certain steps or click on things. As of this point, I’m not learning how to but just following instructions.
Annabelle Ramos –
Very clear explanation and the instructions are really well though out and organized. This makes learning the course fun and doable. I m enjoying the course so far.
Mohammed –
the instructor always repeats the same part again which is too much to do with
Linda J. Lorenzo –
Not at all. I have no idea what he is talking about. I have WordPress already installed on my host site and did not have to go through all this rigamarole. He just jumps into this course with no explanations of why he is doing what he is doing.
