The course is fine, the issues I have been having are with the Udemy mobile app on an iPad Pro 12.9. I had to reinstall the Udemy app in order to view the videos in any course, after the last application update to the new look. Also, If I maximise the video to full screen, there are no controls I can get to that will minimise the video so that I can see the split screen of video and lecture list. Only closing the app and reopening or changing the device orientation from landscape to portrait will cause the exit from full screen video.

I like Mark, and I have signed up for 3 of his courses because I find him engaging and I learned a lot. However, the Q&A is really bad in this course. I have posted a question for long, and never even got a reply. Not impressed.

I saw this video before when i didnt know anything about Javascipt. I think for an absolute beginner with no reference that has never seen Javascript before , he did just jump in. It would be a little too much….but now that i’ve familiarized myself with it a little his way is clear and handled very well. Its one of the best explanations i’ve seen.

Mark is very knowledgeable and friendly, which are great qualities in an instructor. He’s also human, so he makes mistakes, such as typos or forgets to close parentheses. This is even better, because he figures out his mistakes quickly, and shows us, his students, how it’s done. So when we make mistakes on our own, we’ll already know how to handle them.

As for the mobile side of things, I left this review because I already have some training in JavaScript and it’s not bad using mobile for review because I don’t need to code along with it at the moment. If I needed to practice with the instructor, I would most likely use the browser. I like Mark Lassof… He teaches at the fundamental level really well for being an expert in a lot of these areas. His voice also projects really well, and he seems to use a good quality microphone. I often can’t hear or understand some instructors because the quality of the audio is really poor or due to really heavy accents.
