How to Program an Arduino as a Modbus RS485 Master & Slave
$19.99 $10.99Track price
If you work in the Automation Industry, you will know that automation equipment is very expensive. And many a time, especially for small applications, you simply cannot justify the use of very expensive equipment.
This is where the Arduino comes in!
The Arduino development board allows you to create very simple, but very powerful, Modbus master or slave devices through the use of relatively simple C programming. With the Arduino, you have full custom control over the program design allowing you to create very lean and very efficient devices for very specific purposes.
Put simply, mastering Modbus on the Arduino is going to take your skill level and value in the Automation Industry to a whole new level.
That is what this course is going to do. At the end of the course, you will know how to:
1. Choose the appropriate Arduino hardware.
2. Interconnect Arduino hardware with other add–on hardware.
3. Write C applications to implement Modbus master and slave functionality.
4. Use software and hardware to test each application that you write.
All of the programs written in the course are freely downloadable and give you a perfect starting point for further development. At the end of the course, you will have the knowledge to create your own products, your own custom Modbus master and slave hardware.

Abhijeet Vishwanath Sansare –
Nice content. I didn’t know the Modbus protocol before. but after taking this course, I have basic knowledge of the protocol. This course meets the expectations for Arduino/Modbus implementation.

As the other two Modbus courses this one is too is very well organized and delivered. However I would like to have a bit more practical content, spatially for slave devices. For example reading data from a meter or more complex sensor then package and broadcast as Modbus slave device. Other then that, very well done. Excellent job!
Erwinanto Setiawan –
easy to understand
Syed Zakeer Hussain –
please add section : real plc with audrino and sensor please
Luca Cassinelli –
Good course, well explained.
Arthur Tarasov –
Emile mentions some important things here that are not necessarily related to Arduino, RS485, or Modbus but are critical to getting those three to work together. Three hours here saved me three weeks at least.
Meet Patel –
Very good explanation of each and every small detail regarding hardware and software it’s worth a penny. keep growing
Jaime Montenegro –
Excellent course, great explanations!!
Rajiv Shankar –
Very Good, informative and very well explained.

Very pleased was able to understand most and reread bits I missed 1st time. Thanks very much for clear and precise info. One very small thing link to RS485 shield shows as unavailable, So have ordered this CCAA100019 Arduino UNO I/O Sensor Genuine Keyes Shield Funduino RS485 XBee Flux Workshop https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arduino UNO I O Sensor Genuine Keyes Shield Funduino RS485 XBee Flux Workshop /121978943692?redirect mobile instead hope it works OK Thanks again Paul
