Pros: I like the supplied boiler plate code. The instructor speaks clearly. Cons: Some parts are deeply frustrating. The instructor gives a survey of things within the Amazon development area and quickly goes through one example which works perfectly. Mine has yet to work at all, and the Alexa developer console keeps crashing. I’m following everything to the letter. The video images do not reflect what is currently seen on Amazon’s pages. It’s hard to navigate around, knowing the correct options were selected. Python knowledge is required. Suggestions: Go more slowly and explain things in greater detail relevant to the project being built. Update the videos for current content. Give a brief refresher on Python. Ultimately: Did I learn how to program the Amazon Echo? The answer is ‘no’ because the actual process is not explained in clear enough detail with help understanding why things go wrong, and the page constantly crashing makes me want to defenestrate this computer.
