Welcome to The Linux Command Line Bootcamp, a brand new course that aims to turn you into a command line power user! This course will teach you dozens and dozens of powerful commands (see the long list at the bottom), but more importantly it gives you the tools the continue to learn new commands and take full control of your machine. The skills you learn in this course will make you a stronger web developer, data scientist, machine learning engineer, game dev, or plain old computer user! You will feel POWERFUL!!
Hi there, my name is Colt Steele. I’ve spent years leading in–person software engineering bootcamps and have helped thousands of students change careers. Online I’ve taught over a million students and have hundreds of thousands of 5 star ratings and reviews.
This is an interactive course full of exercises and fun challenges that force you to practice the skills you are learning. You’ll encounter some of the same assignments and projects that my in–person bootcamp students experience. Learning command after command can be a dreadfully boring experience, but I’ve tried my best to make this course as exciting and interesting as possible 🙂 You may roll your eyes at my jokes, but you won’t be bored!

Course is VERY EASY to follow. I have had troubles learning my whole 56 years of life. Colt Steele has a voice, topic designs, and lesson orientations that seem to draw my attention skills for a comfortable and rewarding training session.

Koray Demirci –

Colleen Urban –
Easy to listen to and concise.

Only criticism would be to include a bit more info for WSL users throughout the lessons since you included WSL in your installation appendix as an option. Other than that, great course! Thanks for making it.

Amazing course, very well put together. I love the design of the sheets, the excellent exercises using Notion pages and the way Colt explains things in general. At times it was a bit slow for me, so I watched most of it on 2x speed (I wish Udemy would allow for higher speeds natively), but that’s way better than someone going too fast. Really recommended.

Back at uni we used to enrol in courses based on the professor, not the topic, because with a good professor you learn more and even have a better time. With Colt you can do the same. When he launches a course you can enrol in it and be sure to learn stuff, improve your employability and have a great time. The only additional thing I could wish for in this course are, maybe, command summary videos. So every now and then you could look back and consolidate all the learnings, because there are a ton of learnings!

I’m glad I’m supplementing my current Linux training with this. It’s providing greater depth, and increasing my retention of the subject matter.

I have command line experience, but limited exposure to linux commands.

I am a retired UNIX system developer and used this course to help me become comfortable with Linux on my home system. Colt’s presentations were most helpful with this.
Keith D Smith –
Great intro and explaining the importance of the course and how to navigate through the material

I wish the AWK command was included in the course. Still, Colt does an excellent job presenting each topic clearly and well paced. I really enjoyed this course. Thank you.
