This course is awesome for React and Redux !

Despite the ‘2020 Edition’ in the title, a lot of it seems to still be outdated to me. I was looking forward to learning with React/Redux Hooks, functional components, but this didn’t seem to happen. However, the theoretical knowledge provided through the course particularly through the testing modules, which weren’t too outdated in their own right was definitely insightful.

i thought its react native advance course. but its wrong purchase. money waste.
Felipe Uliana –
Great course, I learned a lot from him. But it needs updates to concepts and technologies available as early as 2020

What’s here is explained very well, but it is out of date and in desperate need of a revamp. This practice of slapping the new year on to a course and not actually updating the material is something that needs to be addressed by Udemy.

The stuff on this course is pretty basic. Not advanced at all if you have any experience with redux and react. The hardest part was the back end coding with MongoDB and NodeJS (???). Further, I’m 99% sure this code hasn’t been updated in two years. It still uses classes and lifecycle methods, and you’ll often see how some methods and packages that have been deprecated, so you have to go through and find the right solutions. That said, 50% of the course material is also ‘legacy’ code and completely irrelevant. So there’s only about ten hours of slowly paced learning of basic material. I don’t recommend this course at all.

Because it shows in practice the theory of testing.

The course will surely improve your React skills if you have started to use that library just recently. Very surprising (and great) addition is server side part of authentication which gives great run through creating node.js API with auth. The course have small shortcomings. In testing section there is no mention about spies which are very useful when writing tests. Also the examples are pretty simple. But I am writing it as a person which wrote around 2000 unit tests for Angular apps so I have seen many crazy scenarios that can appear while testing a code (specially when code is far from KISS). In auth API one important thing is missing setting expiration time for a token. This is one of the best ways of dealing with the danger that someone intercepts a token. Also at the end of authentication there is too much copy paste. Not making your code DRY is one of the biggest faults devs do, so would be better if Stephen shown a reusable code approach. I suspect that he didn’t want to drag the course further, but at least something could be mentioned about this :). Still the course (specially the authentication part) is really awesome, so this small faults just bring the note down from perfect to very good :).

I expected much more advanced course. I learned a thing or two, but not as much as I would like.

I whished the authentication part of this course was a little more expanded. The authentication part is very thourough. You can use the solution in any production environment.
Vishwanath Shahdeo –
great explanation
Joao Pedro Lopes Oliveira –
the course is Absolutely great! it goes really detailed from the beginning to the end. You almost don’t have to google anything to understand more because all the features used are already explained so well. I strongly recommend
Aryan –
It is the best course here
Oliver Darby –
Slightly out of date, server and client side auth covered better in his full stack course
Vladimir Cutkovic –
Great course! Stephen as always at its best gives very clear and easy to understand explanations on some complex topics. This course I would definitely recommend to anyone who is on the path to becoming great at React and wants to broaden its knowledge on some more advanced topics.

Really informative

Stephen’s courses always exceed expectations!

The course hasn’t been updated yet. Had a lot of gotchas while learning. A lot of questions haven’t been answered by Stephen. It would be nice, if he updated the course as well as responded to all the queries. This course isn’t worth as the Full React course from stephen
