It used to be the case that everyone viewed webpages on about the same size screen. But with the explosion of the use of smartphones to access the Internet, the landscape of design has completely changed. People viewing your site will now expect that it will perform regardless of the platform (smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer). This ability to respond to any platform is called responsive design. This course will expand upon the basic knowledge of CSS3 to include topics such as wireframes, fluid design, media queries, and the use of existing styling paradigms such as Bootstrap. After the course, learners will be able to: ** Explain the mobile–first paradigm and the importance of wireframes in the design phase ** Create sites that behave across a range of platforms ** Utilize existing design frameworks such as Bootstrap This is the fourth course in the Web Design For Everybody specialization. A basic understanding of HTML and CSS is expected when you enroll in this class. Additional courses focus on adding interactivity with the JavaScript Programming Language and completing a capstone project. The mission of the University of Michigan is to serve the people of Michigan and the world through preeminence in creating, …

Good concept, example, and assignment to make me more understand about Styling with Responsive Design. It will perfect if I can learn more about bootstrap 4 that is the newer.
Mohammad S S –
The most important course after the HTML5 & CSS3 & JS bacics

Mediocre course, I didn’t get much from this course. Most of the time, it shows instructor talking and talking, not enough learning materials. I don’t think this is a good way to get us into responsive web development. I’ve discovered this course on Udemy and it has been good so far https://www.udemy.com/css3 responsive web design tutorial with flexbox and animations/. I would recommend it instead of this course. (It’s not free though but you can get 100% discount code online).

This course changed my mind that we can also use some front end web frameworks to develop quick websites. I enjoyed in learning these stuffs.
ILYA S –
Too much emphasis on an older version of one particular front end framework.

Good introduction to Responsive Design. Not only is styling with CSS media queries covered, there is also an introduction to Bootstrap 3. Doesn’t go very deep, but enough to get “feet wet”. Instructor is clear in her explanations. Recommended.

very nice 🙂

Should be updated to Bootstrap 4, Flexbox and the CSS Grid System.
A M –
The outdated bootstrap info makes this harder to learn from. I’m afraid it needs an update

The course is really well designed and easy to follow. The instructor is capable and easy to understand. I wish the course were updated to cover Bootstrap 4, which has been out for long enough

Excellent material for beginners. You definitely need to continue reviewing after this course, but you’ll have the basics to get started.

A very good overview.

Leul Y M –
Great as always. Thank you for making better 🙂

This course doesn’t cover all of the responsive design as Collean told you to play more with your code and explore more. I mean, sandboxing is the main part of this course, it’s very dependable. Unless you really interested in web design, you just need to watch the lectures and pass quizzes easily. Good course though, it now gives you some view points from people who actually got a job related to web designing, which is nice!

Colleen was great, but this was a weaker title in the series. Good primer on Response Design, but it was relatively shallow, and it hasn’t dated well as she uses Bootstrap 3 whereas Bootstrap 5 is about to come out.

Excellent Course!

Starts out great, but the entire section on Bootstrap is essentially useless as it’s all outdated.
Mohammad S –
nice one
Joseph V M –
The principles of responsive design are well presented. However, this course spends its last two weeks covering an out dated version of the framework Bootstrap, which is somewhat of a waste of time.

I really enjoyed this class! It would be great to compare and contrast different framework, in additional to Bootstrap. Further, Bootstrap 4.4 has launched. The video on Bootstrap may need to be updated.
