What do you get in this course?
In this course, you will discover the power of Android app development, and obtain the skills to dramatically increase your career prospects as a software developer. You ll also have a head start over other developers using obsolete tools and earlier versions of Android.
Android is continually being updated and you’ll learn how to target but users of current versions of Android and older versions as well.
With this course, you get the best of both worlds. You re taught to write code for Android that works with the current version and older versions of Android by using the AppCompat library. That way, the apps you build will work with more versions of Android, giving you access to a wider audience of users.
Starting is easy because no previous programming experience is needed. NONE! If you do have it, great. Or maybe you just want to brush up on your Android development skills, and that s fantastic too.
The course is presented using a combination of video, slides and diagrams, all designed to teach you everything you need to know.
Here is what just one student thinks about the course.
If you are thinking of learning how to develop an Android app, you should be doing this course. It is comprehensive and covers so many aspects of programming an Android app. The best part is that Tim explains and teaches you how to become an independent developer. Since completing this course, I have gone on and developed my own application, which is now published on the Google Play Store! Developing an app takes patience, and it is definitely worthwhile going through all the content in this course. – Daniel Lee

The course detailed installation of Android studio on various operating systems.
Dennis Gonzales –
Amazing Kotlin Tutorial, it will surely improve my skills.
Mike Seibel –
I have taken many online Android Java courses (including Tim’s, which was/is excellent). This course has so far been excellent at showing how the Kotlin solution for common tasks differs from the Java solution. Jean Paul provides excellent support on the Q&A, responding quickly and with well reasoned answers.

Things were great and interesting up to section 11. Section 12 sucks! It seems I am just copying a bunch of code. I have absolutely no idea what is going on anymore.

This is a course that keeps on giving. Biology major / CS minor > Machine Learning Engineer (2 years) > greenhorn Android dev here. Knew a little bit about Python, R, and Java but nothing about the developer side of android before this course. I could tell the instructors really put a lot of hard work into the course. The walkthroughs of the under the hood theoretical knowledge of Android (activity lifecycle, etc) were definitely helpful, but the example apps were the true gems for me. Learning how to set up virtual devices and RecyclerViews would have taken much longer on my own. I assume that a sizeable portion of the students take this course to create and publish their own apps, but topics like publishing and app security are not discussed at all. (These additions would merit a full 5 stars!)

The detail and breadth of this course was a good match for my aspirations to take my android development in the Kotlin direction.
Dominik Wojtys –
That guy is great.
Michael Lonnecker –
It goes through interesting examples. I’m almost half way through but I am hesitant to give a great review because it seems to me that simple things are explained too much and more difficult or seemingly complicated things are glossed over or somewhat skipped over.
Denis Vrublevskij –
So far I have heard and tested the first part, but it was done quietly professional since I am a novice in that field, I just devour everything the author says and shows. Keep up the good work! 🙂
Dennis Asfour –
Very complete introduction to installing Android studio for Windows x64. Good job.
Rounak Jain –
I cannot imagine the amount of effort that must have gone into making this video course. The explanation, live demonstration, quality of content is all awesome. Now, it is going to be so difficult not to complain when watching someone else’s video course. Thanks for making my life difficult!
Chitrakannan Balasubramanian –
So far so good !
navneet singh –
this was very obvious

The instructor has an accent that I am not familiar with. Luckily, he explains the content really well and the video has captions as well. This is not a serious problem, but it’s definitely something to be considered by some people. Exelent cource!
Nicholas Ocholla –
Simple, precise and easy to understand
Gavin Robinson –
Pretty good with teaching Kotlin, helped to demystify it.

Course starts out great for a beginner. I followed along perfectly at first an completed all of the challenges no problem. When the top 10 downloader project began, I became COMPLETELY lost. The jump in difficulty was enormous, and the course begins going extremely fast. For a person looking at taking a beginner course, they will quickly find themselves in over their head.

The way of explanation is really good. He explains clearly why something is used and also why it is used.
Edward Waudby –
Fine so far but nothing substantial covered yet
Rushabh Shah –
Course content dosen’t seem to be satisfying much till now.
Anshuman Ray –

It was ok, should have been explain in bit slow to understand all type of audience.
Gabe Greenwood –
I hope it will prove to be!
Tiffany Der –
very well explain! i am a complete beginner and have fumbled with over 60 hours so far of different courses and tutorials, even for beginners and i noticed those courses were way over my head. i like this pace.
Robert Mencel –
I don’t believe in matches. The experience presented was a great history lesson and storyline. Great for beginners and refreshers. Could use a better start off point. Instead of downloading software from instructor, start with graphical user interface of Android Studio. Also, Haven’t experienced the SQLite lesson yet, but I will assume it doesn’t include fundamental principles of threading and co routines. I would recommend removing the title word, Masterclass because of these missing principles.
Danilo Ara jo –
The best computer programming intro I’ve ever seen! Very detailed to make things clear and easy to understand to everyone! Great for beginners, but also useful for more experienced programmers that want to dive into the Android Kotlin world.
kozanidis Lefteris –
everything is ok, except that in many cases I hear what you say but I don’t know where I should focus on the screen. Maybe you could use indicators or rectangles that will point out what is important and where to pay more attention. But, apart from that, everything is ok. Good Work !
Komsun K. –
A great Kotlin course, so many details the instructor gave here.
Mois s Emanuel Veliz Francia –
good!
