It is a good course. I would have liked more focus on firebase and its possibilities there is a lot of focus on do this and write that and less explaining of the broader picture. I really liked the use of predefined css, so I didn’t have to spend time on styling. All code worked and was up to date (18.11.2019) It took me about 6h to finish the course while coding along inkluding debugging 😉

I like the pace so far. In a lot of other courses, I find myself doubling the speed, because they take too long going over the basics. I like that for this course you start off with starter code, so we can dive right into the important stuff.

Very useful so far! Cheers x

I’d like to give 5 stars as there were quite a few new contents, I am pretty new to Hooks, so it was a good exposure in a short time. This is no beginner course for sure! So one has to have react knowledge before taking this. I still have to watch a few videos again for things to digest, but still, its a ‘to the point ‘ course which I could complete in 2 3 days.

Very well done. I like his approach. He is easy to follow and he provides not only the what but the why. There is a change in video 19 concerning date fns. The module has been updated. He needs to revise the tutorial or at least put in a note about the change. It isn’t a big enough deal to mark it down though.

I really enjoyed this tutorial and, I highly recommend it. If you are new to React and never done it before, this tutorial might be hard to follow. But, if you have a really basic understanding, and some experience with Hooks, and Context, you will feel right at home. If you understand everything in this course, you should have no problem creating your own great app with React and Firebase. Paul from Coding After Thirty PS: I will definitely do a full review of this course and post it on my YouTube channel soon. Reed Barger is a great instructor and I would recommend this and any of his other courses.

For me it was a nice overview of using firebase auth and firestore. Everything built with React w hooks. Content is 5 stars as expected of Mr Reed. It’s an excellent starting point for delving into the google’s platform. Thank you P.s Would have loved to see a file upload also

Excellent course, thank you so much Reed.

You’ll need to know a bit about react before taking this class, but overall it is excellent. Its a great course focused on using react and react hooks with firebase. I’ve done several tutorials and this is the best course by far that I’ve come across.

This course is really good for several reasons 1. firebase is amazing 2. authentication is relatively easy with firebase 3. it teaches you all the fundamentals and you end up with a full stack app without noticing, even deployed for free in firebase hosting with a few command lines 4. firebase and react are a great combination 5. you don’t have to deal with so many dependencies in this project just the necessary ones and are up to date The only cons that I would say is that the support in this course for beginners will be null, if you get stuck you will have to figure out yourself cause the faq is a desert place that gets no answers. Other than that is a good course that you will get a lot out of it.

I give this course Average but could be better, for one simple reason. It falls into the unfortunate category like other courses, of watch and learn instead of actually teaching people about the material. In my opinion as a huge consumer of these courses, the ones that work well, give you some insight into what the teacher is doing. Follow along courses should be labeled as such. I came to learn, not simply watch. That’s what youtube is for. With that said, I really like this teacher. Just disappointed that it rapidly became, watch me go faster and faster as the course neared its end to the point where there was no following along for me. The solution is, as opposed to narrating what the instructor is doing, which we can see, really explain why more and more often.
