In this course we are going to build a full stack blogging web application by starting from the very beginning stages of planning and moving ahead into implementing our solutions.

We will be learning a lot and it will be a learn–as–you–go style course since if I spend time one every little detail we will never be able to finish the course. It is a good course for all levels.

We will be using various technologies to accomplish our goal such as SQL Server, ASP.NET Core, Angular 11, Bootstrap and much more. You will be able to see how all of the technologies interact with one another and that way gain a better understanding of their inner workings.

The first few courses will be us setting up the developer environment after which we will learn and plan what we need to build. After that all of the other videos are going to be about writing code. Lastly we will test our application once everything is finished.

The reason why this course is a must–take is because you can know how each individual technology works by itself, however knowing how to put them all together is where the actual value comes in.

The reason I took this course, was because the course description says: The reason why this course is a must take is because you can know how each individual technology works by itself, however knowing how to put them all together is where the actual value comes in. And that the course is for: Beginner web developers who are trying to connect the dots For me, this course delivers on that promise and takes the beginner to the next step. The connecting part of connecting the dots is the keyword here. It does assume some working knowledge about the dots so that you can connect them. So the ideal learner need to have knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP.NET Core API, SQL and Angular + Typescript. I didn’t have the Angular+Typescript part, but I did have one month of experience with React, and that got me through. High quality fullstack course projects based on ASP.NET Core are few, but this course is definitely one of the high quality ones that show the student how to build everything from scratch and also how to do it with good practice and not just taking shortcuts for convenience. There are courses out there that promise projects with real world applications but then the projects turn out to quite the opposite. This course doesn’t promise that and the project is not real world if we compare it to the blog sites we see on the real internet, but it does give a good and healthy glimpse of what real world web app development is like and what we should expect of ourselves if we are to venture in that direction. I learned a lot of new things, especially in SQL and in the frontend part, but most importantly I got a much better picture and understanding of how the different parts of an application play together, how to set up a project and use different libraries for different purposes, better naming for folders properties and methods and how hard it really is to make something that resembles real world. So I completed the project, I learned a lot, but do I feel that I can make the project now without rewatching the course again? Absolutely not. If I redo the course 6 7 times, each time challenging myself to look at the video and source code as little as possible, then maybe I’ll get the hang of it and can do it myself in the end, and that is probably what I will try to do in the near future. I hope that the instructor will create more fullstack projects like this, with a little bit of the same but from a different angle. Technical stuff: Video and audio quality is good. Almost all lines of code are written and shown on screen and easy to read, which is a huge deal for a slow learner like me. The instructor is easy to understand and is actively helping in the Q&A section.
