In this course we’ll be using Python 3 to build a couple of different Crypto Currency portfolio apps that pull information from the CoinMarketCap .com free API and display them in a graphical user interface app.

Good course overall, it delivers what it promises. I am a big fan of project based courses where at the end you can have a sense of accomplishment once you finish the work. Clear sound, the instructor seems knowledgeable, responded super fast to questions. Another nice thing was that the instructor seemed cheerful throughout the course and kept me engaged! (you’d be surprised at how many other instructors on udemy sound dull and completely boring..!). Luckily, this was not the case with John! Could do with a little bit of polishing here and there in some explanations, but overall a good course and good instructor! Recommended!

I was hoping for a more in depth course including lectures on how to manage transactions (buy/sell) and see historical data. When I looked over the sticker price of $199 (sure, I got it on sale for $12) I thought I was getting a more in depth course. Instead I got just a simple app with a not so pleasant interface with basically no capability of managing a portfolio. With that said, the instructor seems experienced.

This is very very basic. It should be labelled that it is for python beginners. Also the code quality is quite bad: does not respect python standard coding style the nested loop in the sample app is a terrible way to do things the abusive casting to floats etc.. etc..

It was a great course! it’s not my first course of this type and i’ve watched John Elder’s free courses on youtube too. I love how John explains things and i’ve subscribed to his website too. He is one of the best online programming teachers out there. If you wanna learn python, ruby on rails and a lot more, you can’t go wrong with him.
