HTML and CSS are the two most important languages for a new web developer to learn. They are also the easiest. If you ve always wanted to build webpages, but were intimidated by the code, this course will help you learn your first two languages quickly and easily.
Taking a step–by–step approach, this course will have you learning by doing, building several mini–websites from scratch.
Every webpage that you see on the net is built using a language or code. There are many different programming languages that can make your website do various things, but the two most important to learn are HTML and CSS. In fact, even people who plan on allowing someone else to build their website should have a basic grasp of both languages. This way you can tweak things behind the scenes, or change some of your formatting without having to always rely on others.
This course of more than 77 lectures and 8 hours of content gives you a basic, yet thorough understanding of both HTML and CSS. The course focuses on having you begin writing code right away so you can learn through doing, and build your own completely functional HTML and CSS webpage at the end.

A very hands on course that sometimes frustrated me… but in a good way. Often times I missed one bracket, semicolon, or curly brace and it hit me right in the face when I found that one character that I was missing. I only had these issues because I was using Note Pad. Thus, if you are taking this course, I recommend using Coda2 or a similar program. You’ll save some hair on being able to see your tags color coded. Disregarding my issues, the course was overall very fun! Relearning what I learned from school and learning new things made this a very interesting course. I now want to develop a portfolio off of HTML and try all sorts of projects. I felt rewarded every time I got something right or tried something Brad didn’t show off. Coding projects are like puzzles, they tax your brain and make you try all sorts of solutions. And nothing better hits you with the satisfaction of finally getting your page to display properly. Thank you so much, Brad!

It is an interesting course for me as I am learning HTML5 & CSS by Brad Hussey for the first time and I am quite fascinated about beautiful and unique websites so I came here on Udemy to learn about web design. This course was quite fast and sometimes it was difficult to keep up with it but the great thing is that I got the opportunity to learn such a creative skill. It was fun playing with colors, pictures and fonts and designing it. I would highly recommend it to someone who is completely new to Web designing. I would to thank Brad Hussey for sharing this amazing course.

So far, the lectures are really short, and with the short introduction and changing from one lecture to another is a little tiring… just for a video of 30 sec, I think the lectures should be longer, with less pauses. Thanks for everything.

Short and effective lessons, it’s a good course if you don’t want to spend too much hours on learning the fundamentals. Although I probably have to watch the last few parts more than once, I greatly recommend this course.
Steven Mosshamer –
Very straight forward lessons. Waiting to see the applications, and how to integrate the lessons into practical work, but only on Section 2, lesson 12.

Very simple to understand. I am able to follow along at my own pace. The only hiccup that I had was that I had to figure out how to use my text editor (using notepad++ while the course leader is using something else) wasn’t a big deal though, just thought that a quick basic walkthrough for the editors that he promoted would have been nice, but I also realise that is also asking too much lol. It starts off pretty simply right now which helps me keep up and the few things that I don’t understand I quickly learn by pausing the video and doing some personal quick tinkering.
