It’s a good course with a real world project. Yihua is pretty good at explaining most concepts, but sometimes he stumbles on that. It would also be great if he’d turn off those pop up overlays in his code editor when he records. Very often we can’t see what’s going on because the window is covered in pop ups.

the projects in the course are completely outdated NOT 2021 !. The course information is quite useful, but its just really difficult to navigate the course. Sections are titled by project/component step rather than what is covered in that step. The projects definitely should have been updated as long as the course is being sold otherwise should be free. Also whatever was done to the sound / voiceover all the captions are distorted as a result. Example JSX translates to jail sex, AJAX to sex, React Developer translates to ‘reactive helper’.. so the transcripts have been rendered useless. If you rely on transcripts this course won’t work for you. Its a shame because the instructor is teaching valuable information and explains well.. but theres just so many issues with the course. If the voiceover thing was fixed, the transcripts working and the projects updated, and the navigation / organisation of material improved.. i’d give 5 stars.

I am sure people will enjoy this, if they are new and have ALOT of time to learn this skill. In my opinion this course could be great amount shorter. If you feel that you want to make an entire Master Project to learn the course and get through 21 sections just to learn React Hooks, this is all you. I don’t believe this is a bad course and I rather like the instructor, but I just want to warn some people that there are different ways to learn React.

Too many shorthand tricks makes it really hard to follow what is going on. My brain is already exploding, shorthand adds to the confusion. It would be nice to learn the concepts without shorthand first., then be shown how to make the code shorter.
