So far, the instructor is thoroughly explaining how to set up a work environment. He gives a clear explanation of the basics. Good stuff.

Impossible to follow along in a code editor. The code content is inconsistent from lesson to lesson. The instructor could benefit greatly from an outline or script to provide a coherent line of thought. This at least would drive some organization and forethought instead of the ‘shoot from the hip’ feel the course currently suffers from.

Love it already. Thanks!

This is a well done course. the instructor was very easy to listen to and had a lot of wisdom to share. Towards the end he cleaned up his audio. Also take that cell phone away from the speak please.

I brought this course by knowing that the instructor is a good seller on theme market place. I already completed two courses on theme development before this one. First of all i find instructor a very slow. Secondly as i completed two courses already i can say that he is teaching theme development totally wrong way. By example to include stylesheet file he is adding link in header file instead of using function.php for that. To add a title tag he is using bloginfo() function instead of calling ‘wp head()’ and adding ‘title tag’ support. I didn’t go ahead with this course as it was pretty frustrating for me as i already had intermediate level of knowledge in wordpress theme developement.

Making long courses only wastes our time and interest. The course material could have been covered in a lot less time if he took it serious. The instructor is completely out of his mind when he is talking, looks like he is talking to us and also checking out his phone. Sometimes, he says one thing and then he says it again. And sometimes he says one thing and then he codes it differently, although the course covers a lot of material but it looks like the instructor is a very non serious guy. I think he needs to focus more on his video than his crap phone. He makes a lot of mistakes when coding like he is a kid, the code is very inconsistent from one video to the next, you need to take your courses seriously and be more attentive towards your work. After completing his course, I am not sure I would say that he is the First Web Design coach in the world.

Good understanding of PHP, but can get lost a bit on different variables. I just need to know one that works and works well and up to date PHP coding other then that he takes his time going through each section. Great Course.

Great indepth course on theme development from beginner onwards. Although I had to speed watch about 15 videos because I was already familiar with them. Overall a great course to take.

So far, I think that Bruce is a brilliant WordPress developer and an overall good teacher. The content in the course is great, and I feel that I have come a long way in my knowledge of WordPress. Bruce is both nice and super helpful, and will answer you promptly with any questions you have or concerns. The only reason that I am giving the course 3 stars is because there are a lot of mistakes, both in the continuity and in the editing of the videos. If those mistakes could be fixed, I would easily change my rating of the course to 4 5 stars.

Takes you step by step, I like that

Bottom line: For theme development, this is a great course to get you going. I’ve looked into other course options on Udemy and elsewhere. This is definitely a great offering. I am finishing my first theme and going back through this course to finish up. Recommendation: At the beginning of the course, take plenty of time to build a development site with lots of posts, pages, including media content. Theme development finer points involve moving content around on pages with HTML and CSS.

I am learning a lot, but there are some inconsistencies between lessons. Some lessons begin with code that had not been gone over in previous lessons, and presume that the viewer had already learned it.
Matthijs Kollen –
Tot nu toe een basis uitleg van wat er nodig is, dus prima.
Jonathan Roberts –
good pace and delivery; aimed at anyone with no knowledge of theme development
