Why does this course need to exist?
Everyone has played a Battle Royale game such as Fortnite. Perhaps you’ve always wondered how to make your own, but found tutorials were too long and didn’t get to the point?
I want to put an end to Game Development being tiresome and boring. That is why at the end of the 8 hour series, you’ll have a fully working Battle Royale game, ready to be built on and made into your own.
That means that depending on your learning speed, you can have a working Battle Royale game completely finished in under a week. The lessons you will learn can be used to go on and make any other type of game you can think of.
How is this possible?
Unreal Engine 4 is completely free to use and is a AAA quality engine, used to make games such as Fortnite, Bioshock, Gears of War, and Borderlands. Unreal Engine ships with Blueprints, an industry standard tool that is the perfect gateway into the games industry for a beginner with no technical knowledge.
Think of Blueprints as driving an automatic car: you’ll be able to learn all the correct skills and concepts, without any extra distractions. It will also put you in a great position to go on to learn the more technical C++ language, if that is what you choose.

One of the worst courses, the user never explained how tf he got some components done, and yet just forwarded, bad course. would not recommend.
Prav Uppal –
An excellent experience. First time I’ve ever done anything like this and now I have a working Battle Royale prototype! Well worth the 15 I paid. Thank you SO much!
MichaelBaumgartner –
Its pretty good. And you dont have to say sorry if its too complex, thats just how it is! Great work.
Jonathan S nnerup –
The pace is way too high and too little stuff is being explained for anyone to actually understand what they are doing. Yes, there are details that beginners do not need to know, but many parts are just hand waved away that are pretty crucial. There is no point in having a course for speed run game dev for beginners. I believe that it would be much more giving for new students if the pace was slower and important parts and general concepts were explained.

Its too fast and I like it but you will definetely (eventually) miss something and have to rewind the video in order to carefully examine the spot you missed. I prefere this instead of taking soooo long to hear the teacher talking about f.e. ow check this box and then hit escape and then drag the window to be more convinient and so on missing the important content. The other way is more over for students that just started developing … I really hope there will be a second volume of this course getting us in the depths of unreal development as he is obviously experienced on this kind of games.

Very good but if the resources are real guns models it would be better 🙂

I have a basic knowledge of UE4 and got a lot out of this course, Reuben certainly knows his stuff. You certainly will get a working game out of this, if you: pay attention, pause, rewind, do the examples, rewind again. At one stage I sneezed and missed an entire section on the health bar. It is great to see a fast paced course like this think of it more like a complete comprehensive checklist of things you need to do to get a game built but don’t kid yourself that you will understand everything that you do just from the videos, as he says you should study and learn on your own. One thing this course REALLY needs is some resources on completed blueprints, even screenshots I really did miss many steps and it took ages to realise I had to tick ‘some checkbox’ for it to work. I guess that is part of the learning though.

Nice Teacher, clear and easy to understand. I learned more in this tutorial than about 5 other courses combined. short and precise but good concepts
Grayson Dyer –
Because I like it
Jeremiah Roa –
Awesome. Easy to follow. Learned a lot. Well put together.
Ioannis Kiaras –
Its good but needs a little bit more details on the videos and also it would be good if the creator replied on the questions. Good overall experience though.
Daniel Donche –
Really great videos. Instructor does a good job explaining why we do certain things and the things that can go wrong if we don’t take certain actions. Learning a ton of stuff.
Paulo Roberto Aulette –
O Professor n o est nem ae pra os alunos… n o responde mensagem, n o responde pergunta e o game depois de conclu do n o funciona. Simples assim.. (Curso pra ganhar dinheiro em cima dos alunos) N O ACONSELHO

My reload is happening twice and I have no clue why
Kage RF –
good

So far and i am over halfway through… It has not been too bad of an experience but was really more interested in the online multiplayer and sort of disappointed. Since i have characters that run around and when they reload it shows them in other screens sliding along the ground while reloading. Plus will not show another character firing their weapon in another screen. would be nice to of went into a little detail about the multiplayer aspect a little more… but still have more to go maybe it will get better….. Also from what it looks like do not expect a response from him.

The courses aren’t well organized, there is alot of breezing past things, and the instructor doesn’t seem to respond to questions. I’m trying to get animations to work on clients and the solution may be somewhere in 2 3 hours of footage. After reviewing the footage, the firing animation was never setup in the first place.
Amanda Straker –
it is very very interesting i am 13 years old and i get bored very fast so this is very good i love this course and continue what you are doing
Coleman Horn –
I love da course nbaby
Lucas Brown –
It was very interesting, as with all things like this there will come problems as everyones machine is different and I found the problem solving of why a system didnt work a little difficult but satisying when I figured out what I had done wrong. Course was VERY well explained and helped me create the perfect foundation for a Battle Royale game.
Esteban Diaz –
Awesome ! Thank you very muchn very helpful to make my first game!

Overall the course was very good and well presented and felt I learnt quite a lot from it. However; I felt the pace a tad on the fast side and some areas not very well explained. Fortunately this wasn’t my first Unreal Blueprints course and actually done the Unreal Engine Blueprint Developer: Learn Visual Scripting Udemy course which in my opinion was better structured for a bigger. The reason for me doing this course was purely the networking using Blueprints and a few other topics like pickups etc. Rather than focusing on the described topics other stuff was also thrown in. I tried to follow this course using proper development practises using a Kanban board and GIT, which meant I had to skip bits and come back. A few places I found the code not working so had to go back through numerious lectures to try work out where I went wrong. After completeing the course I found a couple issues that I just could not fix which leads me on to the topic of support. Unlike other courses, this course seems to be pretty dead in terms of support. There have been people asking questions 6 12 months ago with no answers. It appears that Reuben has moved on to other stuff and no one else monitoring questions. Udemy really should have a better way of managing this. It would have been good to have a completely project source so we could at least compare and try to work out where we went wrong. I felt for what I paid for the course ( 15.99), which I waited for one of the Udemy sales it was probably worth it. There are a lot of gaps in this course which this course so if you’re new to Unreal Blueprints then I would start with Unreal Engine Blueprint Developer: Learn Visual Scripting first.

He just goes far to fast like I am already super familiar with UE4 and making games.
Logan Seidel –
So far, yes.
Logan Seidel –
So far, yes. Well done! Must be attentive.
David Reeve –
Explains everything clearly and simply at a good pace for beginners like me. Update: After hours and hours of slowly going through these videos, I feel like I’m finally getting to the point where I have a basic understanding of what I’m doing. I messed up a few things and had to go back and review all the blueprints I did. Using the logic of how things work and are connected, I was able to track down the issues and solve it.

Good Course
Cesar Caceres –
The content is good but he leaves a lot of things out, questions does not seem to be answered promptly
Puja Shejul –
good
Kiefer Head –
It’s pretty good overall. You will be pausing the screen quite a bit to check steps that weren’t explicitly talked about, but you will indeed be able to develop with no prior UE4 knowledge if you put in the time. I’d slot about twice the run time of each video for each chapter.

Dean Leverton –
It is awesome so far
Evan Holm –
so far, from what I know everything has been explained thoroughly and has expanded on my previous knowledge!
Jeff Gutzwiller –
What a great tutorial! Its my second tutorial so Im still very green but well spoken, clear examples, and tutor doesnt allow errors to accumulate like the last tutorial I worked on (sooo frustrating). Still new but loving the progress thus far
Arnav Sharma –
Very good explaining at the start about actors and components
Gijs Rommers –
Great, constructive explanation
Forest Neff –
Excellent course. Project focused w/o a lot theoretical information so its best to go into this with a basic understanding of the Blueprint scripting system. There were a few errors and glitches in the final game, some might have been oversights on my part, and some may be from different editor versions, and a few were probably left over by the instructor, but this gave me some great experience tracking down and fixing bugs in my game.
Andreas Eschbacher –
The Teacher is really good, It is easy to follow. The only thing I would change is the relation between Mapsize and Minimap Staff … there is maybe a mathematical solution not hard coded.
Christopher Jones –
I hardly ever leave reviews but I feel like this needed to be said for prospective learners. Ive been following this course and although I have learned quite a bit, the instructor is nowhere to be found to answer questions or help. Im taking this course 2 years after its release and ive scrolled through countless comments of people asking for help and he hasnt answered 5% of them. It moves at a fast pace which is great, but there are times where ive watched the video 2 3 times and still run into the same problems. If he hired an assistant to help, or even took more time to answer the most asked questions it would’ve helped a great deal.
