If you’re tired of spinning your wheels learning Swift or Android, this is the course for you.
Animations? You will learn it. Architectural Patterns? Included. Navigation? Of course!
Flutter is a newcomer to the mobile development scene. Strongly supported by Google, it is already viewed as an ideal platform for replacing native Swift and Android development. Thanks to its amazing standard library of widgets, fast compile times, and amazing documentation, developers are falling in love with Flutter!
This course supports MacOS and Windows – develop Android and iOS apps easily!
Flutter apps are created using the language Dart. No problem if you’re not already familiar with Dart; this course includes a lightning fast introduction to Dart at the beginning, along with hours of bonus lectures at the end of the course solely focused on Dart and its advanced features. If you come from a background working with Java, Ruby, or Javascript, you’ll feel right at home with Dart – the syntax is nearly identical, only a few core concepts need to be learned. Dart is a strongly typed language – but don’t be discouraged if you’re not a fan of strong types! I spend special time in this course to make it extra clear why developing with a strongly typed language is a breeze!

I have purchased previous courses from Stephen, this course is pretty well laid out, very clear, informative. It’s broken into several easy to understand parts. However, the course is highly rated and it’s over 2 years old without a single update. Buyer beware, MOST of the course is still relevant, there are a few method name changes here and there.

At agora sim, est atendendo as minhas expectativas

This is very helpful. I especially appreciate how well and clearly he goes over Streams and the BLoC pattern for state management. Only Flutter/Dart course I have bought that does that very well. This course is great for already experienced developers like myself. If you are just starting out, I’d recommend you go buy Academind’s Udemy course instead. That course is much better suited for beginners. For experienced developers though, you will love this course.

The course is nice and the instructor, Stephen, comes across as polite and kind; however, he has gone AWOL and the course has not been updated for a long time. There’s still plenty of good information. Not everything is explained in depth, so referencing from other sources will be required. BLOC is covered, but nothing about the newer Provider state management. I wish the section about Streams could have been more in depth, but like I said you will need to study from other sources especially if Stephen decides to permanently abandon this course.

We’ll see mainly I want to learn more about flutter and bloc pattern.

The instructor is really good for this class. He does an excellent job of giving concrete examples of harder topics like streams and BLOCs so you’re not confused when you start using them.
Zahid Alware –
Very confusing and lenthy example specially for stories bloc

Very well explained.

Stephen speaks clear and concise English but completely over explains stateless/stateful widgets. Honestly his definition and use of whatever note taking pad was poor, I was forced to read the flutter.io docs and other simplified docs. Also as a visual learner his text box examples were very poor visual examples & guidelines leaving a lot to question. Overall his course did not break down dart/flutter programming in its simplest form. I think for an intro course it was very poor quality and lacked tremendously in terms of simplicity and efficiency.

Lecturer breaks the line of thought to condense the videos in short format videos. He stopped explaining in the middle of a for loop to say see you in the next video…The level of interruptions to break the content in short format is not effective. Every lecture is broken in the middle of the explanation with a …to be continued in the next video warning. And the next video starts with…let’s re cap the previous session. (Which was less than 3 minutes long).

Its a good course, some parts are outdated but nothing that can’t be googled. Some of the outdated content takes time to google. Also Bloc pattern is explained not in usual way, but its enough to understand bloc. Also no help when you are stuck, I tried discord channel, twitter dm are closed for the instructor and on udemy it takes over a monht to get response. Response from other students. That too 1 out of 20 30 questions gets response in a month. Instructor doesn’t respond to udemy DM as well, it has been almost a month since i sent DM on udemy.

This is a good introduction to dart and flutter, but as of now it has become a bit outdated. The code that he gives will still work but has to be slightly modified in some spots as depreciation and updates to the flutter packages will throw you some errors. I, a novice coder, didn’t have too hard a time looking up and fixing the depreciated parts but if you are completely new to coding then you might run into a little bit of trouble. The structuring and implementation of state management within the course works, with slight tweaks, but much of it looks very different to todays documentation and examples, at least to me. If you had a deep understanding of the language and packages you probably could see the linage/similarities but being a novice I struggled outside of the course because of the differences between the courses examples and more modernized versions of state management. Time will and has taken a toll on the relevancy of the course. The instructor does well but the subject is rapidly changing as dart and flutter are seeing improvements and updates that will eventually drive this course to irrelevancy. Over all this a good course to introduce people to some of the very basics of both flutter and dart like simple UI syntax and structure, but its age is showing when it comes to the big things such as state management. I bought this course on discount and I still believe it is worth the discounted price. If the course sees an update in the future with a rework to the example apps then its well worth it. Until then you might want to look at more up to date courses or hold off until you have steady foothold in the programming world for things to make a bit more sense when it comes to interpreting old to new syntax and concepts. Good teacher, aged content when it comes to big thing, relevant content for small things. 6/10, hope it gets updated as relevancy will drop with time.
