You need to slow down and do all steps manually without fast forwarding recording since this is an educational video and student may skip or forward video if needed.

A good coverage of database first workflow. We have some projects in our company which use the database first path since that was decided by the legacy designer. For e.g. some parts had been a little confusing, such as why there were those pesky looking Result classes? Now I know better that they are there for a reason and are called complex types. Although I’ve worked with EF without fully understanding the innards of it, I look forward to the rest of the course and finally getting a good handle on this ORM tech.

Mosh is really good at explaining the fundamentals of whatever the topics he delivers. After having understood the fundamentals, he gradually takes the audience developers to the next level where the concepts will be discussed in depth, which really boost the confidence of the developers in understanding the topic in its entirety. Well done Mosh!

This is a great course to learn Entity Framework version 6.x. The author speaks in a clear way and he’s easy to understand even to non native speakers like me. He gets straight to the point, writing code and giving tips from real life experience to help making decisions when there are multiple ways to get the same result (data first vs code first approach, data annotation vs fluent API, stored procedures vs LINQ, navigation properties vs join, and so on). Keep in mind that to fully appreciate this course you need a pretty good knowledge of C# (OOP, data access, lambda expressions, anonymous types) and MS SQL Server (and standard SQL queries). Remember also that EF 6.x is not the latest version of this technology; now there is EF Core.

I really like the way in which Mosh introduces and explain every concept, It is easy to understand and to follow. Besides that the course is well organized and with simple but useful examples that helped me to get started practicing with EF since day 1.

This is very nice tutorial about DatabaseFirst demo application in a console project

When you use shortcut key combinations you do not explain the keystrokes you use, so trying to follow along can be frustrating and difficult.
Mauricio Cerizza –
Good course. However, it is a bit outdated. I suggest you to update it to last Entity Framework Core version.

Had the instructor said that this was strictly a windows course, I would not have wasted my money. All of his resources are in some odd encoding that will not work, or at least after an hour of trying.
