It really stands out as the best of all the paid and free tutorials on Gamemaker. – Craig
Without a doubt one of the best Game Maker courses I’ve seen across all online learning websites. – Jason

The lectures are informative and easy to follow. I have learnt so much in a short period of time. Questions which I have asked have been answered very quickly with usefull information or quick fixes to my code. Highly recomended for all!!
Kirstine Michelsen –
His code was very compact and very easy to understand, but he did talk a bit too fast so it was hard to keep up sometimes.
Dave Tierney –
If you’re looking at this course after trying Peter’s DnD tutorials on YouTube and wondering if it’s worth it, I can tell you 100% YES. It’s a whole different level but explained so expertly. I’m inspired to get something done and I now have the tools needed.
Josiah DeRosa –
The instructor explains the concepts clearly and moves at a good pace. The course is interesting and great techniques are shown. He also writes his code very cleanly making it all very easy to follow along. One of the best instructors on Udemy.

The coarse was an excellent coarse, Key concepts were explained well. However I think that the student requires a simpler coarse to begin with.
Sean Hetsko –

Fabricio Bohrer Dorneles –

Marc D. Holman –
This is a fantastic tutorial. Peter explains everything very clearly and moves at a reasonable pace. He doesn’t waste any time fumbling about. Unlike with many GM tutorials out there Peter follows best practices and the code is always well structured. I’m about a third of the way through and feel some real confidence that after completing the course I’ll have a solid foundation for future work. Also, Peter is a very responsive instructor he responds to questions quickly and takes time to explain the material clearly.
Cairo Selbee –
Starts off small. Very good for a advanced tutorial. love it so far.
Sam Luxton –
This is the best online game dev course I have taken, and I have taken quite a few. Peter is clearly an expert and teaches us easy to understand yet powerful methods to make a simple but polished platform game. More importantly, the code you create during the course gives you a solid foundation to build your own game on on, with things like Finite State Machines, Macros and switch statements. I will continue working on this project and make my very own platform game, creating the graphics, sound and animations from scratch and adding game mechanics if necessary. Thanks Peter for the valuable knowlege, I’m looking forwards to your next course already.

Very good, something truly professional! I’m excited to see more from this teacher!
Chris Short –
This course is great well explained, going at a good pace, but not excessive. The support is fantastic, answered usually within a day or so, which is fantastic for a 2 year old code The updates to the latest version of the language really helps too.
Simon Bretschko –
Great course if you want to learn how to make 2d games in general. The information you learn in the course are not only important for making tile based platformers but also for all other sort of game genres. Some of the concepts where a little hard to grasp, but after rewatching and sketching out how the functions/scripts should work I got the hang of it. I’m not done yet with the course, since I try to make small games with all the different concepts I learn, but I’m looking forward to completing the course and making my own 2d tile based platformer!
Daniel –
Excellent. Not for absolute beginners with no experience. For me, this was perfectly paced. I learned quite a number of tricks I was not previously aware of. I only gave it 4.5 stars because some of the code wasn’t as dry as I would have written it and I am a strong proponent of the French marking system. but it is easy to read Easy to follow, great work. I would very much look forward to some more courses from this dude.
Adrian Cocean –
A very good course to follow along and learn to make a basic platformer game in GMS2, even updated to GMS2.3. The teacher is very good at explaining everything and even answers questions as soon as possible. An overall good course to start with Game Maker Studio 2 and get the basics of implementing tiles, collisions and scripting.
Felipe de Almeida Gabriel –
simply the best course I have taken so far, incredible
Idrees Sattar –
This course is an amazing way for people who do not know how to code for a game, or have a limited knowledge when starting, like myself. The lecturer thoroughly goes into detail on what the coding is actually doing inside the program. He has also went through and added extra clips to lectures to inform you on the changes that have been made to the GMS2 since he first made the course. He also replies quickly to any questions his students have for him to do with the course or adding to thier own projects. This is usually within 1 2 hours, at least in my own expierence, which is extreamly helpful as it allows you move on and not be held at dead spot for long. If you are still not sure on the course would recomend checking the lecturers DND YouTube series. As this can give you an insight on how he teaches and also shows you a simpler way of using GMS2 if you are a beginer.
David Major –
This course is very well delivered and incredibly clear in its explanation!
William Thomas Krantz –
As a newcomer to GMS2 and game design in general this is a fantastic introduction that is not only concise and minimal in its workload, but also teaches good coding practices for future projects. One of the most beneficial series I’ve found so far, hands down.
Jose Geter –
