I felt like I got a good overview of JSON and how to construct and use JSON objects, but would have liked some more realistic practice

This was a good intro into JSON, but didn’t really go into much depth or use many examples of all the different types of values available for JSON, mainly used string examples, which the most common, would have liked to see more ways to use all the value types though.

Overall, a very good overview of JSON and how to use it. You’ll need to have access to a HTTP server to properly run and explore all of the examples. A LOCALHOST or some other server will work. These are needed in order to access the JSON data files that are stored on your hard disk. The files are supplied as part of the course materials but you are responsible for setting up the environment.

This is not a well prepared course. The speaker should have used a script it would have eliminated the many awkward pauses as he searched for what he wanted to say next or tried to find a way to correct something that he just said. Scripts can be very helpful for avoiding just that type of situation as long as the person knows to read with inflection and not be robotic. The other and much more annoying factor is a crutch I see WAY too many technical people lean on when they don’t know what to do with their hands when speaking. THEY HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT with the darn cursor. This is a horrible habit! It’s an indicator that the person has not thought out in advance what they’re going to say and is instead just following their own train of thought that arises in the moment to drive the conversation. KEEP YOUR HANDS IN YOUR LAP. That is a great exercise when preparing to give a demonstration. It forces you to use your words and slow down instead of assuming (very wrongly) that the audience’s mind pattern is the same as yours. It’s most definitely NOT and you should never assume that’s the case. It’s horribly distracting and does nothing to assist in conveying the material.

Great resource for learning

Great so far.

Very repetitious, little content despite all the talking and mouse pointing, limited and repeated sample data, anyone with any programming experience would understand his points in a fraction of the time he took, each lesson covered only minor point. A good teacher could have combined 3 or 4 of his lectures into one without being too fast paced. THIS WAS NOT EVEN WORTH THE TIME I SPENT WATCHING, much less having had to pay for it. I am very disappointed!

not good as expected. this is only for bignner and it should be free.

I believe the course is too basic and includes too few practical examples for the student to complete.
Bill Bosler –
easy to understand

Good course, straight to the point and full of useful knowledge 😉

Very professional presentation of JSON basics.
Diane Hereshko –
To understand JSON as i need to create JSON files for my application.

The course is informative as an *overview* of JSON (introducing arrays, etc.).. but if you’re looking to learn how to code JSON from scratch, this is not the course for that. I am coding for Apple News (JSON) and unfortunately this does not help at all.
