This course is designed for those new to JavaScript, and even those new to programming entirely. However, as the first module of a comprehensive web development course currently under production, it is intended for those who are serious about becoming superior programmers. In 199 lessons, we cover the commands and methods we use on a daily basis, examine the structure of JavaScript generally, including concepts such as inheritance and scope, and introduce a number of important concepts from general computer science, such as memory management, efficiency of algorithms, sorting methods, and bitwise operations.
Finally, a very important part of this course is application of JavaScript to solving problems. Currently the top–ranked coding challenge solver on the Coderbyte website, I found that solving such coding challenges was the easiest way to develop my skill in working with the language, as well as to develop skill at figuring out how to come up with solutions to real world problems.

After going through most of the course now, I am even more pleased with it. As a complete beginner, I feel like I am really getting a great introduction into the basics. it seemed a little slow at first. with lots of work in nonJS stuff like the terminal, but I am starting to see now why we did it. I’ve also found the new exercises and quizzes to be very helpful and am hoping that more will be coming. I want to learn about web development, so I hope he will create the next courses soon.

The instructor really seems to be committee to helping the students learn, and I really lie his approach of starting from the beginning with a completely new computer.I think this will be a great learning experience, and in any event, I was quite surprised by the guitar performance in lesson three!

I have completed about 1/3 of the course so far and I have to say it is doing exactly what the instructor set out to do. Build a strong foundational knowledge of JavaScript. I have taken a few beginner JS courses already so in comparing, I can say there are many things covered here that are missing in others. Like setting up your computer with the proper tools for JavaScript development (Term2, NodeJS, Homebrew, Atom etc). There is lots of advice on how to go about improving your coding skills too and how to deal with getting (inevitably) stuck on a difficult problem. I really recommend this to people who are serious about learning to code and want to take the time to understand the fundamentals of JavaScript. The instructor is very knowledgeable to understand how knowledgeable I encourage to check out his coderbyte ranking 🙂 His approach of taking the seat of a new learner that knows little to nothing about programming is unique in that he really goes all the way to even starting with a newly formatted laptop and patiently explains how to get everything set up and running. Lots of funny asides and anecdotes to keep you entertained along the way. I am looking forward to completing the course! I will leave a final review once I am done.

one of the best instructor that can explain very details of each lecture. I’ve learned so much of Javascript as absolute beginner. Each lecture is short and get to the point. I also love the pace of the course. I strongly recommend to anyone who’s new and interested about JavaScript!
