Building nice looking professional quality reports doesn t have to be difficult or even time consuming. If you have the right tools and some basic knowledge, report authoring can be one of the most rewarding activities. SQL Server Reporting Services is definitely the right tool and this course teach you the basic knowledge.
In this training you will learn how to create pixel–perfect reports that retrieve information from SQL Server. You will work with the report designer to combine tables, textboxes, charts, gauges, maps, and images to create list reports, drill–down reports, map bubble reports, dashboard reports, invoice reports, and many more.
In this course, veteran consultant, Joey Blue, leads you through lessons where you will work with a fictitious music delivery company and you will be faced with real world scenarios that will force you to create 10 different reports in an iterative manner. All of this report authoring is done on your laptop or desktop pc. There are videos that show you step–by–step how to setup your computer to work through the examples as you watch the videos.
The only prerequisite for this course is an Internet Connection and a PC. You don t even need to know SQL. Everything else will be taught in the course through the video lessons.

The Express Version does not have the Query Designer options as shown in the video. For the most part I have been able to work around the variance.
Melat Elfagid –
Great explanations.

I like the way he shows multiple ways to do things and exposes things in layers. It often happens that way in real life. Do this, do that, does it work? Redo. Best course for my current effort I have taken so far.

Overall, a good place to start. This course has sufficient breadth of material to get the student going with report authoring. I found the reports to be interesting, particularly the graph reports and the map report. The Customer Invoice replication can be applied to any number of outgoing communication.
