Being an instructor on Udemy I’m also interested to see what other courses are being published. As strange as it may sound we like the idea of competing content, this builds a following which in turn is good for all, so anything that gets users in to Udemy is good for paying providers like us. Having a personal interest in IOS development I decided to take a look at this free course and after reviewing quite a few of the lessons I came to conclusion that it offers an decent introduction and there is a place for these free courses, this is what builds the crowds. I notice that some users have placed rather derogatory comments against this course, which are not justified, yes it has some shortcomings, but the author has clearly gone to a lot of trouble to create content and then given it away for free, maybe these users who are so quick to criticise would care to create a better course for free?

While the author appears to be very knowledge on the topic the presentation of the material is lacking. The majority of the classes are presented using OpenOffice’s (Mac version) presentation app. The slide are consistently out of focus, which isn’t terrible for just watching, but is painful when trying to transfer program code to an external editor. The author recommends several readings as homework but never discloses where to obtain the material. What appears to a downloadable files of the source code and presentation do not work (possibly a Udemy issue). The review of Obj C basics is good.

I was pleased to see this course offered for free and was excited to get started. I have to say that I’ve been very disappointed. Sushant may know his topic well, but the quality of the production lets the course down, I managed only 6 lessons before I just couldn’t listen to any more. I’ve just signed up for a free MySQL course on Udemy and the quality of that course is excellent, this course lets the side down. To wrap up, tutor knows his stuff, but production is of very poor quality. Please re record, it could be a really good course. Andrew
