Course Introduction
Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS) is a cloud–based repository for both structured and unstructured data. For example, you could use it to store everything from documents to images to social media streams.
The most effective way to do big data processing on Azure is to store your data in ADLS and then process it using Spark (which is essentially a faster version of Hadoop) on Azure Databricks.
In this course, you will follow hands–on examples to import data into ADLS and then securely access it and analyze it using Azure Databricks and Azure HDInsight.
You will also learn how to monitor and optimize your Data Lake Storage.
Expected Outcomes
After this course:
You will have a very good understanding of Data lake features and properties
You will learn about different tools and scenarios to ingest data into Data Lake.
You will learn about Data Lifecycle and Architecture around Data Lake
You will be doing end to end demos to ingest, process, and export data using Databricks and HDInsight.
You will learn about 5 layers of Data Security and how to configure them using the Azure portal.
You will also learn about different tools Azure provides to monitor Data Lake Storage service.

Very nice walkthrough into azure data lake gen2. Clear concepts those just required to jump in . Liked this course.

The topics are well explained. I have the following recommendations: 1. Use of Azure CLI, Powershell or even scripts with tools like Terraform should be included. In most real life cases, the developers won’t be using the GUI. 2. In Data Lake Factory, the use of Git option should be covered. 3. Automation use case should be included. As in, when data is ingested it should automatically trigger some quality tests and if it passes the tests, the it should be transferred to the data lake.

The training sessions are well organised and the course provides a good idea and usage of Data Lake. Though different use cases were demonstrated in the course, it would have been good to cover best practises on data ingestion and organising containers and folders within data lake. For example, how to ensure data already moved to Data Lake is not copied again from the source. This will be really valuable for beginners. Otherwise the course is really worth it for anyone wanting to learn about Azure Data Lake. The instructor response to all the queries which ensures, your questions are attended to on time.
