What Will You Build?
All of my courses are ‘learn–by–doing’: no boring endless lectures with Powerpoints, only live, interactive coding examples. In this course we’ll build one massive web application that profiles the advanced features of React, Redux, Express, and Mongo. By putting each concept into a real app, you’ll get a better idea of when to use each unique and powerful feature.
Build a large feedback–collection app. This mega app will include the full gamut of features, including everything from authentication to email handling. You’ll learn how to build an app that can be used to send mass emails to a big list of users for the purpose of collecting feedback. It’s my goal to ensure you understand each feature we build into this app so you can apply them to your own personal or professional projects in the future.

Unfortunately this course is not as good as I was expecting. Entire code, entire file structure is written in antipatterns, that you will mostlikely never write in your dev career, on top of that, some of libs, used in this course, is not recommended to use or depricated. You’ll meet a lot of talking for simple topics that not require explanation and no explanation at all on topics that deserve attention. All you will learn in this course is how to manage core of your project based on React front end and Express back end, nor how to protect your server and data, nor how to handle errors properly. I guess, I just had high expectetions about it, which unfortunately werent meet.

It’s been good so far (I’m only at the very beginning). It seems a bit outdated though the latest version of Node.js referenced in this video is from 2017. I would love to see an update in some places.

This is probably the most thorough course on the subjects, maybe a bit too much as half of the course consists of explanations through diagrams. I wouldve preferred a more practical route of explanation with code ( testing dummy data, writing some code instead) but there is much to learn with this course if you can manage to finish it.

Until now the course is been really good! the only downside was related to deprecated parts, like the mongoDB atlas changes and google api changes. The available notes were not enough for me to adapt what was said on the videos, versus what I was finding on the real websites. I read the notes, and they helped, but they were not enough for me, ans some of those were simply different than what I’ve found on the actual steps. Apart of that, the overall content is been great!! Really important and useful content that are really close to real life production apps.

i have taken several courses by Stephen and i really like his teaching style, it is the best i have encountered on udemy. The content of this course was difficult, particularly the backend sections ( i have knowledge of the front end and react/redux etc) but they were well explained. I am glad to have the ability to go back and watch sections again as i am sure i will have to refresh myself on certain parts. All in all, the course was not only enjoyable but very useful. Thank you for the content and the knowledge.
