Have you done some Python programming but want to take your skills to the next level? Maybe you just want to add GUI programming to your box of tricks.
Or take your Python scripts to a new level by introducing a graphical user interface to your boring console applications.
I am sure if you are reading this you already know that Python rocks. It’s got some serious horsepower and putting applications together takes less code compared to traditional languages like Java and C#.
By not having the skills to build GUI apps, you are seriously limiting your potential.
This course is designed to help remove that limitation.
If you are looking to learn Python GUI programming, quickly and efficiently then you are in the right place.
Volkan At1s, your instructor is a very experienced developer, and knows Python GUI application development inside out. And is now here to pass on those skills to you.
Whats covered in the course?
Python GUI Programming using TkInter (which is Pythons default de facto standard for building GUI Apps).
Not only will you learn how to use Python to build Desktop applications, but Volkan will take you on a journey where you will also explore advanced GUI programming, creating actual Python applications, using Sqlite advanced database queries and loads more!

the content is informative but its too short.

I liked the content of the course in general and the apps that were developed. Still, I have to admit that the language capabilities of Volkan result in some difficulties in understanding some details, as well as a lack of explanations for various points. As a payed course, I think it should provide more explanations than typical online tutorials, which was barely the case here. Also, in the example apps, some functions simply lacked in the end (e.g. asigning the keyboard shortcut for clear all in the text editor), which conveys a certain impression that there is a lack for details. This is in my opinion also to be seen in the complete ignoring of PEP 8. Still, I learned quite a lot and that is the main point, so thank you!

Yes, this is the tkinter course I’m looking for. I hope I will learn a lot from this course.

It explained the UI that I needed, but no explanation on TTK module.

It doesn’t feel like the instructor has a very well thought out plan on what he is going to present. The presentation seems choppy. I think he knows what he is talking about and I think I am learning something … I’m just not in rhythm with his instruction style, yet. I’m going to keep going in hopes that I sync up with his style.

Bad english, bad coding style. Also, I cannot see how this is any better than just reading the docs.

1. The teacher should, in my opinion, start by showing students how to find the documentation for all the possible options instead of trying to show all of them (maybe he’ll do that later, I don’t know) 2. Teacher has a heavy accent, but is understandable 3. There are no explanations as to why you have to create the top level figure or what root.mainloop() actually is doing

Need more explanation not just coding
Raf Jablonsky –
so far so good …
Roberto Peralta –
He is not prepared for his lectures, he does not explain anything he does or why he does it, and goes through it way too fast to really make sense of anything
Robert Johnson –
A very good basic discussion of Python GUI
Amit Dahal –
Wonderful lessons. Simple to understand….

So far, I have learned a lot. I’m looking forward to continuing this course. I started taking this course to fulfill a project idea I had in mind, so far the course has covered 90% of what I needed, and I’m only 1/4 into the course. The pace is perfect for me and we are moving forward in edible chunks at a time and making sence of everything in larger projects. Great course.

Tim Buchalka is not the instructor. The instructor English pronounciations are difficult to understand. There is not much explaining or teaching, for me, this is typing practice, not a learning experience.
