Do you want to make amazing, performant, and overall better React applications? Look no further than AWS Amplify.
This course is the best guide you’ll find to learn Serverless React App building.
In it, we will be making two complete React / AWS Amplify projects, from project start to deployment on the web.
Here’s what we’ll be making:
A Full–Stack Serverless Marketplace app (similar to Udemy), built with React / Amplify, a complete GraphQL API, Multi–Factor Authentication, Lambda Functions for charging customers / sending emails, Stripe for payment processing and the component library Element for styling
A Real–Time Notetaker App (made both with class components and React Hooks), with full CRUD functionality, GraphQL Subscriptions, complete Authentication and all written in 100 lines of JavaScript
What will this course cover?
Creating entire GraphQL APIs from the command line using the Amplify CLI
Building sophisticated serverless GraphQL APIs with AWS Appsync
Multi–Factor Authentication and Verification Codes using AWS Cognito
Creating serverless REST APIs (functions) with AWS Lambda that run entirely in the cloud
Using GraphQL Subscriptions to Broadcast Data Changes in Real–Time
Executing GraphQL Queries and Mutations both in the GraphiQL Console and in our React Client
How to integrate React Hooks with Amplify applications

Alessandro Braidotti –
Good tutorial but out of date with modern aws amplify.

Whilst this course is a bit outdated, it is still without a doubt the best AWS Amplify / React course you can find right now. I really enjoyed the projects and how Reed guided us through the projects whilst explaining in good detail what we was doing. (I am a new programmer). A few downsides are that the course is a bit outdated due to Amplify updates, however thankfully other course users in the Q&A have posted their solutions (You’re awesome guys!). It would be cool to see the course updated and maybe add a new project. Overall if you’re a beginner at React and Amplify you won’t regret this course.

I’ve taken Reed’s earlier tutorials. He’s a good coder and concise communicator. Very valuable skills in his courses with good best practices.

Excellent Course
Daniel J McDonald –
Very easy to follow!
Jody Smith –
I’m able to follow along, however there are some missing steps (like tachyons emmet), the amplify console is really old, and the React portion is done with classes vs hooks. so feels a little dated, but concepts are clear enough.

Too basic

Really enjoyed this instructor, clearly an expert at this material and very engaging.

Just as I need

The pace of the course is too slow. I had to watch it with 1.5 speed. Also, the instructor doesn’t pay attention to code formatting. I know that does not have anything to do with the subject of the course, but as a programming instructor, one should try to set an example for the beginners and more junior developers.

The lessons currently use a severely outdated version of Amplify and AWS CLI toolchains which no longer deploy to AWS. If you put in a lot of work to follow along using the newer toolchains, it’s possible to use this course. However, the whole point of paying for a udemy course is to have a curated learning environment instead of endless googling… which is what you’re currently forced to do to follow this course. The instructor also goes VERY fast through any coding and provides little or no explanation about what is being done. It would be very helpful to explain why things are done to have context and vocabulary to enable a working understanding.

I hate when there is a problem with the course, and the instructor is no where to find. Just hate it.
Sam Ollason –
Very concise and clear explanations. Compresses a lot of detail into a short explanation. Really helpful to get up and running fast.

It s pretty easy to follow but it is getting pretty outdated and needs to be refreshed. Needed to handle some additional setting and component compatibility issues to progress in the course. Slowed me down quite a bit and even started over before figuring it out.
Colin Bieberstein –
Unresponsive author, out of date libraries, the training was probably excellent, but due to lack of maintenance its less than useful.
John Spurgin –
Excellent pace, great content.
MIKE RUBART –
its been great so far. i did have a little trouble with the pasting in of the access and secret access key. i ended up using the drop down edit menu from the cmd window.
Hector Mejia –
