Spring Boot 2 allows to take an idea/prototype and turn it into a real thing in matters of hours. A lot of companies use Spring Boot because it’s easy to setup, learn and write code very fast without having to setup the low level platform code. Recently, Netflix has decided to switch their entire backend to Spring Boot 2. This shows that Spring Boot is a must if you are or want to become a software engineer in the Java/Kotlin world.
This course teaches how to build a full stack application from the ground up and touches on very import concepts used in real live software development. Concepts such as:
Backend with Spring Boot 2
Fontend with React.js
Databases
Managing Database Schemas
Docker
Error Handling
Packaging applications for deployment
Deploying FullStack apps using AWS Elastic Beanstalk
Dependency Injection
This course focus on teaching you the process needed to build your own apps and deploy to real users. The skills gained at the end of this can be applied immediately on your own projects, university projects and at your work place.
What are you waiting for? I shall see you inside…

Marko Malinen –
This course was a good introduction to the topic. My favorite part was the AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
Frank DiTucci –
Just started the course and the presentation of the material is outstanding.

Engaging course! Very well done!

I am a bit disappointed with this course. Being familiar with Java but not React makes me realize how nothing we do is being properly explained; I just follow along as we build the app, but why we do everything the way we do? I have no idea. I understand you can’t explain every little bit about React, but I’d expect an explanation about basic stuff we use and what we can use it for, typical things to React (I guess?) e.g. state, render(), creation of the basic functions. If the goal just to get a working application, then I’d just download a complete project from github, but here I want to understand what I’m doing. Just following along doesn’t really teach me anything. Sorry, your course on Spring basics was fine for me, but with this one I’m spending more time reading online documentation to understand what’s happening.

The course was great!

Due to version differences and operating systems, the course did have some difficulty in trying to have the same implementations. For example, Windows 10 home version users would either have to pay for a professional licence or do some work around to use Docker tool box which is not the same as explained in the video. I was about to hit the refund button at this stage. A lot of time was spent looking into solutions in making it work; for example, Virtual Box would not map the docker container to localhost. I would have opted for a simple database installed on the local machine rather than using Docker to install Postgres. I also had problems with setting up React proxies and was not able to do what was set out on the video, hence had to do another work around. Running the course within a virtual environment such as Vagrant would have been a much better experience as the student would be operating under a controlled set of software versions and operating system that the course designer intends students to use. I understand this is a limitation of Udemy, but something to consider.

Could get some more context as to the app s architecture before diving in, as in: tell m what you re going to tell em . Also there could be a bit more explanation on why some actions are necessary to do and what for. But otherwise I like the teacher plus the practical approach keeps the lectures light and quick to watch.

This is a great course if you want to learn how to integrate Docker, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL in not much of time. Also how to deploy on AWS. Nelson is great and helpful instructor and I fully recommend this course.
Uriel Melendez Sanchez –
It is a pretty good course. It has been a good introduction to new techologies.

This is the best fullstack course by far. Even though I do not use React, I follow the instructions and do the same front end with Vue.js and Spring Boot, Postgres, Docker and AWS tutorials are just what a software developer needs these days. Highly recommend the course and the instructor.
Arnol Espitaleta Sierra –
Excellent course!. Thanks to the teacher.

This course will give you a good general understanding of the technologies and how to use them together. React content could be updated to include newer features such as React Hooks.
