This course teaches the principles of Relational Databases and the SQL language. It is intended for “Analysts”. Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL is one of the most valued technical skills an analyst can have. It will make you a more valued member of any team.
This course is suitable for a novice. I start by explaining how Relational Databases relate to your experience in the everyday world. When you have completed the course and exercises you will have created a database containing several related tables, updated the data they contain and written many queries which extract and summarise that data.
I teach using a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and exercises. You will learn by seeing, hearing and doing. With each step you build your knowledge using what you have learned already. An on–line course sets you free to work at your own pace and to review and revisit earlier material, even after you have completed the course.

All lectures are clear and engaging. The instructor is relax and conversational. It is an excellent tutorial for beginners.

I wanted to understand SQL from the very basics and the teacher of this course has done an amazing job in explaining SQL like you would do to a two year old.

First get rid of the intro and outro guitar strum…not helping…and second, I found the course very material rich but lacking a sense of coming back to a core each time something new is introduced. It doesn’t have to be a full review each time, just a way of seeing progress in getting a full picture of the topic

I appreciate how clear and detailed the information being provided is. The instructor is extremely knowledgeable about SQL and the databases. I haven’t interacted with him personally, but he seems very friendly and gives you the option to contact him with any questions you may have. I also really liked that I was able to speed up the lecture.

A good foundation course for SQL. Though there are sections like DCL could have been elaborated more with demonstrations Eg. Create Statement, backup and restore functions. Over all at a minimal cost one gains good amount of querying knowledge through this course.

Very well organized, very interesting, sets the stage for what we will be doing.
Linda Cleary –
This course teaches the principles, not just ‘this is how you use it.’
John Machin –
Good explainations, repeating task and lectures meant that items are memorised. Logical themes .
Brittany Dockery –
Very slow moving and the example is entirely too simple for what a database is.
Prince Adedolado –
Yes, clear and straight to the point and good illustration.
Aadya Shree –
It was a good course
