Angular Version 5
Purpose: To keep this course on the cutting edge of Angular technology and be consistent in providing instruction for the features found in the latest Angular release (v5)
In this update we addressed the major changes in the Angular version 5 major release. Per our course content, including hands–on coding exercises, there were a few breaking changes in the 5.1 releases which ripped across much of the original project code and also included minor, non–breaking changes which outdated certain aspects of our original content.
We’ve updated all of the course s code–along video content with version 5 code, including:
Angular–CLI repositioning & syntax usage related to its repositioning
Angular–CLI & npm syntax usage
Angular–CLI template output changes
Material 2 Library Module massive positioning changes
Material 2 inclusion and configuration syntax changes
Material 2/Animations Module repositioning
Fallout of the above deltas outdated a large percentage of the course s existing content. Each affected video in the series was updated to reflect the current release.
The Angular Forms Module has been in flux since the inception of Angular 2. Fortunately, it has stabilized in the later 4.x releases and we feel comfortable enough in it s current state to have included it. Forms are a pillar of web–based development and we feel this content adds significant value to the course.

Liana Mikulin –
This course is nice and thorough and packs in a lot of detail. I had to rewind and re listen many times to fully grasp what the instructor was saying. I actually enjoyed doing the steps more than once because it helped reinforce the concepts. On the minus side there is no reason to use Cloud 9 why is this even done. There is also no explanation or even mention of unit testing and the spec files even acknowledging that these are generated by the Angular CLI to provide a starting point for your unit testing but will not be covered in this course would be better. I would recommend this course and I am glad I persevered through it. I felt it provides a reasonably comprehensive overview of Angular.

Great intro to Angular 4!!! Also great intro into using the angular cli build tool!!!
Michael Fidel –
This course covers the essential Angular elements without the student having to make a polished application while doing so. If you already know, or are at least familiar with, prior versions of Angular, this is the course for you!
Andrew McCurtis –
Very straightforward!
Mitchel Koerts Meijer –
Untill now i really like it.
Rolf Banting –
The presentation method video of code editing becomes repetitive. One way round this would be to skip the duplicated implementation steps instead add a table showing which files need to be updated once the implementations steps are given for one of the classes.
Keith Cotlier –
steps easy to follow, works as described with C9
Boris Polak –
This course is absolutely perfect. You need literally only internet connection and browser, which is absolutely great.
David Elliman –
Clear voice and good pace. Needs close attention but doe snot leave one behind or get boring by labouring the obvious. Well organised order of presentation.
Paul Morel –
The course goes through the ‘construction’ of the scaffolding, but doesn’t give the reasons ‘why’. There is no over arching understanding of the goal of our ‘scaffolding’ It doesn’t give me the understanding, of why we are doing what we are doing, so if something went wrong, there is little chance I could understand how to fix it, or tweak it to do what I needed it to do in the real world.
Dermot Latimer –
Had great difficulty getting the services section working.

This gives a good/quick tour of building a basic app using angular 4, but you’ll need to have some skills at troubleshooting in order to fix the inevitable compilation and/or runtime errors that crop up. Also, because this space is moving so rapidly, you may find some material is not quite up to date and working through issues can take a bit of time. Do check out the Q&A sections if you have issues. There are some helpful comments in there. As of May 21, 2017 the final course content is not available as a resource, so you will not have a full set of code to compare if you do run into issues.
Francisco Bosch –
It’s very clear.
Ruzdi Islam –
It good for a start but I was expecting more discussion in depth. Probably it is done like this way because it is a short course.

yes it is,
