New! Updated for Spark 3.0.0!
Big Data analysis is a hot and highly valuable skill. Thing is, big data never stops flowing! Spark Streaming is a new and quickly developing technology for processing massive data sets as they are created – why wait for some nightly analysis to run when you can constantly update your analysis in real time, all the time? Whether it’s clickstream data from a big website, sensor data from a massive Internet of Things deployment, financial data, or something else – Spark Streaming is a powerful technology for transforming and analyzing that data right when it is created, all the time.
You’ll be learning from an ex–engineer and senior manager from Amazon and IMDb.
This course gets your hands on to some real live Twitter data, simulated streams of Apache access logs, and even data used to train machine learning models! You’ll write and run real Spark Streaming jobs right at home on your own PC, and toward the end of the course, we’ll show you how to take those jobs to a real Hadoop cluster and run them in a production environment too.
Across over 30 lectures and almost 6 hours of video content, you’ll:
Get a crash course in the Scala programming language

Carlos Kassab –
The course is good but Frank is using an old IDE, it would be better if using the last version of IntellijIDEA and Scala Lighbend plugin.
Dharmendra Kumar –
Excellent with spark streaming concept running on real time cluster as EMR.
Chithra Bhat –
Yes
Pavlo Lysytsya –
Very high overview and nothing to learn : example the instructor goes very briefly and says you should not assign too much memory to the executor and not too little without saying how we should calculate that. same for executor cores and many other parameters. for spark UI he goes and says this is the jobs tab this is the stages tab, but he didn’t go to the utility of each tab.
Mohammed Aamer Khan –
everything till here i understood rest i am going through
Muneendra Bhardwaj –
Nice delivery
Anatoli Klepikov –
clear explanation, logical evolution of examples
Abhijit Pendse –
Excellent as all other courses by Frank
Vinod Subramanian –
Some topics like Sessionizer could have been covered better. This would have been an awesome course if atleast one of the external systems integration was done end to end (kafka or kinesis). Spark Streaming in Production topics are great and very useful for the real world.
Mariusz Bielawski –
A very useful and consistent course. Worth recommending.
Ashok Ashwin –
the scala course could have been made a bit more detailed
Jos Esteves de Souza Neto –
amazing
Rajkumar Vishwakarma –
Some modules are good and most are pretty poor.Course content are not in detail, unlike a developer ex. project setup, sharing the jar files, project setup should be through sbt/maven etc. Overall not satisfied with the course content.
Ahmad Hajjar –
I like the content but sound quality is a real issue, every time Frank moves his hand on the table I hear a slam sound (it seems like he is mounting the sensitive microphone directly onto the table !
Ahmed Adly –
This is an amazing course. Frank definitely comes with massive real life experience, unlike other people teaching courses where you get someone reads a book for you. Frank covers the topics that you really need to build a world class application. Highly recommended.
