I’m giving this a 5 star rating because this course it’s suitable for me. But not so sure for complete beginners. I am a beginner in unity, but I have a bit of experience with c# programming (web based) and making games (through visual scripting). So for me, it was pretty easy to connect the dots. At first the instructor teaches the initial concepts of programming and what concepts we’ll normally use in a game. This course focuses mainly towards 3D hyper casual games. You can apply it into 2D games but I would suggest taking a different course specifically on unity 2D games. Then, the instructor teaches us on how to implement the programming concepts that were taught earlier, by showing step by step on what to do and what not, when making a real game. This to me was the part that made everything clearer. There’s a section on how to release to ios and android play store which is very awesome since I had a tough time doing this before and I believe this would be very useful to beginners. He teaches us also on how to personally connect to top game publishers on a friendship level and how these top publishers rate our games for acceptance. I don’t think he teaches us on how to know what game criteria the publishers are currently looking for. But you could alway ask him questions and he does respond, which is a good thing. Would I recommend this to anyone? Yeah, certainly.

Enjoyed the course a lot. Its a really good course for beginner game devs. I liked how he showed simple yet must have coding techniques for casual mobile games. He also didn’t spoon feed you, and made you look up answers on your own. This was the only course that I actually made a full original game start to finish and didn’t just copy the instructor!

The best thing about the course is that it proposes ways to abstract and think a game, as well as how to outline and implement a game. Great course

First of all what this course isn’t: A complete overview of the C# language The ins and outs of every aspect of the Unity game engine This course is a good introduction to both Unity 3D and Mobile development, it goes over a lot of the most important aspects of the engine in a very clear and precise way allowing you to dive straight into game development without needing to fully grasp every aspect of the engine. A real strength of this course is the balance between teaching the details of the engine/programming whilst still being simple enough to follow and allowing me to get started with the engine. The course doesn’t spend lots of time teaching unnecessary details, as this is something which you will need to learn yourself as you progress. This course teaches you how to go about learning and finding resources on your own, which is important as no course will ever be able to teach you everything in a realistic time frame whilst still being interesting. Another strength of this course is that it goes over the whole process from creating a game to using Facebook SDK and publishing on the Apple/Android store. So in theory after completing this course you could go ahead and create your own game and publish it, although realistically you will have to still learn how to implement the specifics of your game. What this course does is give you the core principles on which you can build upon as your experience grows with the engine and is a good start for people totally new to the engine.
