What caught my enthusiasm upto now is Gile’s way of communication by explaining the basic concepts through examples in a very systematic way.
Natalie V –
I need to get up to speed quickly with Python and the explanations and examples are very clear, let’s you start coding some right away. This is the course I’ve been looking for!

Writing this after the first three sections which is a bit like having to review a three course meal after only a quick bite of the starter! I really like Giles’ didactic manner. His You Tube channel is excellent, and from what I’ve experienced so far, this course is of a similar standard. I’m fairly familiar with software development and Python, so I really took this course for the Computer Vision elements later on, and, perhaps because I’m self taught, I never tire of walking the beginners journey with a good tutor: you know you’ll always learn something. It’s a familiar path through the fundamentals so far, but I rate it excellent largely because of Giles’ ability to convey the content clearly and in an engaging manner, and also because there are good examples to get your teeth into, which will stretch and consolidate the beginner’s understanding. If I was to say anything critical I’d say Anaconda, though an understandable choice, may not be the best starting point for a ew programmer. Linux and Apple (I think) ship Python with their distros and it’s easily installed for Windows. From there, I think spawning a console in a terminal for interactive use, and using a text file to write a program, gives a much better fundamental understanding of what’s going on, initially, rather than giving the starter the impression you need a massive framework, with lots of bamboozling apps, to do even the basics. At the same time, it can give the beginner programmer a false sense of security in terms of the intellisense guidance and the pre loaded packages (not sure if the user is required to use pip to load any other libraries that don’t come with Conda?) It’s also largely redundant if you’re switching to VS Code (my fav IDE) later? More a personal perspective than a criticism. So far, as expected, excellent, and looking forward to the rest of the course. Very early in the course to be writing a review, but this is my take on it so far. May revisit my opinion towards the end.

Teacher is very good and explains the course clearly step by step.

I was already familiar with Python , wanted to fix some gaps in slicing, tuples, dictionary comprehensions and Matplotlib . However, I found very interesting the way every subject was handled, made me want to go through much more sessions and practical exercices.

Course is good so far. Basics are elaborated in such a way that beginners can understand and learn it in a very easy way. will continue posting my comments time to time.
Jan Lategahn –
The course is held by an awesome and skilled instructor who explains the concepts of Python in a way which is understandable for everyone. For an experienced developer coming from another language, the content will be too slow paced in the beginning, so here it makes sense to set playback speed to 1.5 or 2. Beautiful course, worth every penny.
Trishla Jain –
No one is there to respond to doubts other than students, I have taken other courses from Udemy and every doubt is responded in a day or two at least by the instructor which isn’t the case here 🙁
Joseph Peretz –
great so far
Saurebh Gandle –
So far so good.

Skill level: All Levels: NO, not at all. I’m not saying that this course is bad. It is not. But the course is oriented to the absolute beginner. Not for all levels. If you are a programmer learning a new skill this course is absolutely boring. For example: Instead of saying he conditional in python is if condition : the teacher says when you came to the traffic lights if they are green you go an if they are red hopefully you stop (for over 7 minutes try to teach you what is a conditional) The examples are also very basic and oriented to the absolute beginner. The very bad? This is not 12.5 hour, is 10.5 hour because 16% percent of the course are: git/github and installing virtual box and ubuntu. That’s not what I was looking for. The best? Appendix Quick Reference. Really. All the information without losing time. As a professor for over 10 years at uni I can see that this teacher is very good, very well organized and have very good skills, but the course must be divided: this course for absolute beginners and another one for experienced developers. Regards
Stefan Vladimir Gabor –
Delivered well so far.
Bruce W. Johnson –
This is what I need to understand python.
Vinayak Magdum –
Great coarse for the beginners !!
TaxRandia –
I found this course pragmatics because it allows us to understand a difficult concept easily with real world examples and exercises
Qais Doofesh –
Very good content and explanation from Giles, but the course seems neglected; questions asked to the 365 team before purchasing course (to know if it’s the right one for me) and even during the course on unclear examples or missing lectures are not answered by anyone from the creators. But I would still recommend the course. P.S. I have purchased the Data Science Course, Time Series Analysis and SQL Course from these guys and can say that this course was not their best in terms of support.
Glen Harrison –
The content was what I expected. It seems to run along slowly, but that’s probably because I have experience in programming. This course assumes you don’t have any experience. With that said, it is a really good resource for the type of content your buying.
Jaron Schulz –
It is very well done and tought with positive energy. As a Developer who wants to learn Python as my next language, I am still waiting for the deep dive.

I have taken a ridiculous amount of courses on Udemy and may only have left 1 or 2 comments ever. Here is why professor Giles deserves FIVE STARS and a genuine review. His course is a lot shorter than other Python courses but this doesn’t mean that it lacks teaching material, in fact it’s the opposite I have learned more from in 1h of his course any other Python course in twice the amount of time (2h of any other course). It is because he shares the information succinctly (meaning short and sweet). Giles if you are reading this. What makes your course A LOT better to learn from then any other one apart from the practical examples is that you do not teach people what NOT TO DO before teaching them what TO DO… A lot of other lectures will go over a topic then talk about what not to do for 8min and in 2min tell you what you should do this is a waste of memory for the learner and causes confusion. E.g. If you are shown 4 wrong ways before 1 right way, after 20 videos of this your brain is subconsciously trying to recall all 100 ways of doing the new things you learned and needs to filter out the only 20 correct ways out of 100 instead of simply recall 20 new topics. Giles is direct and says, what you need to know… ABC about topic XYZ and that is that. If you make a mistake, you will know it yourself and that is how you learn. And when you make a mistake as you practice, all you have to do is try to recall how to solve the problem correctly rather than try to recall all the right and wrong ways of doing something. THAT is the #1 reason (among many more) this is the BEST PYTHON COURSE for a beginner on the WHOLE Udemy PLATFORM. This teaching style is one of the best on the entire platform period. I sincerely hope that you continue with this teaching style in the future. Unfortunately, some content creators feel forced to bump up the total hours so the buyers ‘perceivable value’ is higher on longer course (I have been guilty of viewing courses like this myself). But make no mistake the value of this course is 20 out of 10. My impression of Professor Giles is that he is a good man and intellectual that enjoys the sharing of knowledge with other people. The growth and enlightening you experience is what fulfills him as a teacher. I take my hat off to this man, much respect. Thank you, Professor Giles.
Luke Goncalves –
Very good detail that most other videos and teachers leave out.

Totally impressed with the course, the best is the teaching method that consists of the explanation of a concept and immediately exercises to practice. This makes you learn very fast. Giles is a great instructor with excellent energy speaking and explaining topics. I hope to see more courses with him as an instructor on topics like pandas, or data analysis. Even in the middle of the course in an exercise where you are asked to import a Python module to see how it works, I ended up generating a whole project, simply due to the fact that the course provided me with the bases to experiment and explore more in depth.

I am evaluating the course in order to push my colleagues in the department to take it. Most of them would be beginners, but having some programming notions. I really like the way the course is driven from simple to more complicated notions, the clarity of the language and quality of the rpesentation. Keep up the good work!
