Welcome to this course: The Complete Universal Windows Platform (UWP) Developer Course. Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is a platform–homogeneous application architecture created by Microsoft and first introduced in Windows 10. The UWP provides a guaranteed core API across devices. This means you can create a single app package that can be installed onto a wide range of devices. A Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app can run on any Windows–based device, from your phone to your tablet or PC. Designing an app that looks good on such a wide variety of devices can be a big challenge. Fortunately, the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) provides a set of built–in features and universal building blocks that help you create a UX that works well with a variety of devices, screens, and input methods. This course describes the UI features and benefits of UWP apps and provides some high–level design guidance for creating your first UWP app.
At the end of this course, you’ll build a complete Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app. The example application is straightforward to develop, easy to roll out, and simple to maintain. So let’s get started!

I found in this course a good introduction to UWP app that allows me to think seriously to my first UWP app. This course is not for beginners, i think C# skills and .NET experience are really required. Features are indeed described a bit quickly and beginners can be disappointed. A good point is that each feature is described thanks to a simple example that helps to understand. Wrong point is the project. It is too briefly described, i think course will be really better if some sessions are used to build step by step the project for practising and then better understanding.

Does not show all the code used. It gets irritating trying to figure out what to do.

Sehr detailliert und umfangreich was die Funktion angeht, aber f r mich fehlt etwas der rote Faden.

The content/instruction was good; He has a great speaking voice and explains things well. Also, it is clear that his lectures were judiciously edited so everything flowed well. There was never a time where something didn’t compile and you had to wait while the instructor figured out why. So pretty much all of the lecture is actual useful content. Also, in terms of coverage, I think he did very well at covering enough breadth of material to become a UWP developer. The depth was lacking at times, but it also means that the course/lectures were not unnecessarily long. However it wasn’t necessarily designed in a way most people would expect (including myself). It is pretty much impossible to follow along because (1) he doesn’t include intermediate code examples (just the finished product), (2) he will cut and paste where you do not actually see everything that was entered, or (3) he’ll start with a half working example. Once I got used to this, it was fine I just stopped trying to follow along in Visual Studio. I feel like I understood lots of the concepts only marginally, but it did give enough so I could go back later, go to MSDN or Stack Overflow and start to figure things out from there. However again this didn’t meet my expectations for a course. Something worth noting, while he is using VS 2015, and I was following along with VS 2019, I didn’t find this to be much of an issue. Things moved around, but it wasn’t terrible (of course, I couldn’t follow along much anyway). Aside from giving more code resources, there are three other ways he could have improved this course. First, he could simply stated at the very beginning how to get the most from the course i.e. what’s the student expected to do while going through the lectures. Second, if he wasn’t going to fully explain something, he could have minimally explained where to go to find out more. Third, it does not seem like the instructor responds to public or private questions.

Absolutely the WORST Udemy course I have taken, and I have taken quite a few! Unfortunately I am past the 30 day requirement to get my money back. Although, the narrator (he is not a teacher) seems to know quite a bit about UWP his method of sharing that knowledge is very poor to say the least! His method of simply importing code that was previously written is difficult, if not impossible to follow; what is worse, is that he does not provide the code that he is importing. It is impossible to use the the source code that he provides at the end of the course to use as a follow along without spending several hours solving compiler errors due to missing namespaces, packages classes, etc! What is worse is that the owner of this course has never, and I mean never taken the time to respond to subscribers questions, many of which ask for the code to follow along with. This course is slated for all users I disagree with that 100%. A beginning UWP developer will be pulling his/her hair out very early on in the course. Udemy will do themselves a HUGE favor by removing this course from there database and seriously consider banning the creator from any submitting any future courses!!!
