Always bet on Javascript!
For years, top recruiters in industry have hired fresh engineers based solely on their knowledge of Javascript. If you want to get a programming job, this is the language to learn! But learning Javascript is complicated! There’s fancy syntax, weird design patterns, and a billion resources online that might be giving you wrong – or even be out of date – information.
We built this course to solve your problems. This is the best and most up–to–date resource online for becoming a Javascript professional as quickly as possible. Every minute of this course has been created with one goal in mind: teaching you how to become a great engineer.
The Modern Javascript Bootcamp (2020) focuses on cutting through unnecessary information and giving you just the facts, plain and simple. You won’t work with outdated frameworks, learn old styles of programming, or build boring apps. Instead, you’ll only spend time writing practical code that can be used today and in the future on your own projects. You’ll learn – from very early on in the course – how to write beautiful and reusable code that you’ll be proud to show to a future employer.
Two of Udemy’s greatest instructors – Colt Steele and Stephen Grider – collaborated to create this course. Between the two of us, we have taught over one million engineers how to program. Rest assured, you will be learning from the best. We know how challenging it can be to understand a new programming from scratch, so we designed this course to offer you a step–by–step, guaranteed approach to becoming a Javascript master.

It’s a bit premature for me to leave a rating after only watching one video, but it looks fantastic so far. I can tell you that the explanation of Prototypes I just watched really clarified the concept for me. The instructor is very aware of the content and actually makes it fun and engaging to learn these difficult concepts. I’ll revise this as I get further in the course if anything changes but so far it seems to be the most detailed course on JS out there. Very glad I bought it.
Bart Frackiewicz –
Great course to learn JavaScript not only from the Front End perspective! I’ve learnt a lot of useful things!
Lennon Mawele –
Excellent
Daniel Wilson –
Great course
Eduardo Hernandez –
Almost finishing the first part of the course, maybe one of the best pure vanilla Javascript courses out there. If you really want to understand the language, buy this course now. Amazing teachers!
Jose Uscanga –
Buen curso, me hubiera gustado ver patrones de dise o con ejemplos
Dip Raut –
I have start building the projects and Its really fun . All the projects have a good amount of complexity and you will learn a lot through this projects . Really unique and best JavaScript course in unemy .
Krista Harder –
It’s very straight forward and easy to follow.
Joseph Schindler –
So far it is very good. Only issue for me personally is trying to perform the code while following along. Some of the content moves very quickly and i have to back up the video to retry the examples. I feel better learning the principle while doing it in the console during each video.
Arsalan Barzegar Zanjan –
So far very good, clear instructions and easy to listen to. Also the first parts of the course i would even recommend for people who want to learn programming in general and not only Javascript since the tutor explains everything very well. I will revisit my review once i’m done with the course.
Jenni Doan –
So far, so good. I understand what is going on.
Tirth Shah –
I am glad that I have chosen your course. Really an amazing one. I will highly recommend this course for those who are a beginner or intermediate level. Thanks, Colt for such a wonderful course.
Timothy Wright Bodine –
Explaining all the tricky newer syntax stuff, just what i needed
Ben Walker –
Just from the beginning of the course, I can tell that Colt’s teaching style is much easier to understand compared to many other resources that I have tried to learn from. Excellent so far!
Saurav roy –
yes,he goes on every detail
Chandrika Dawkins –
it is very resourceful and useful
Brian Patrick Gabon –
Only a few lectures in, and I’m already learning a lot more than the typical follow along javascript resources that are available on the internet.
Dahni Shaw –
I’ve taken quite a few online courses and this is as professional and well put together as any I’ve seen! I love that Colt doesn’t move TOO slow because it’s easier to pause or rewind to review a concept than to sit through very slow content.
B D Augustine –
Took another course with the same instructor, very well done, laid out in a very logical manner. Great!
Caesar Cyrus –
Excellent course. Colt Steele and Stephen Grider both are best instructors on udemy. Hope they will create more courses together.
George Barkos –
As of now, it is very pleasent to follow along. The only thing I dislike, is the fact that sometimes there are sudden cuts in which you change the names of the variables. In the mySong portion, where it turns into favSong at the end, I had to look twice to realize what is going on. Kinda confused me.
Silviu Dilimot –
Great course.
Chris Marlowe –
Really gets into the individual DOM practices i feel is frequently missing in courses. Great explanations
Nick Gleadall –
This course was outstanding. Colt and Stephen make an excellent team and I really developed a solid foundational understanding of JavaScript (and a fair amount more!). I really, really recommend this course it is one of the best I have taken. Half a star is lost for the ending! The course just abruptly ends with finishing off a testing framework. I understand Stephen likes to leave his course open ended for easy content addition (cant wait), however, as this is a foundation course I feel it would be useful to have a summary video with maybe a couple of suggestions for further learning / next steps.
Petr Bednarski –
I was so excited about this course !!! But then it changed .. The first part I liked, the second part was also very interesting, but the last 2 sections about TESTING were so boring and it completely changed my mind about this course: / Thank you Colt and Stephan for a lot of new information, my favorite part is about ECOMMERCE …. test section wasn’t great for me, so I skipped it all …. Anyway people, you should buy this course! It was worth it 🙂
Leon Brown –
The sheer amount of content in this course if fantastic. The pace is managed brilliantly: beginning with a steady, strong development of concepts and finishing with a much accelerated learning process. Challenging but never out of reach.

Still in the introduction, but very clear and concise. Paused to check out his YT video on setting up VSCode. Wish that was part of the section.

All the courses by Colt Steele are great. This one is quite new, so it includes the last changes in JavaScript, aswell as explaining everything about this languaje from the beginning. I highly recommend it!

This course is awesome.
Sam Medriano –
Today’s date is July 10 2020 and today is my first time of really going in depth with JavaScript. I’ve heard a lot of great reviews with this programming language but listening from the onset of this course up to this point is just information overload. I still don’t know what lies ahead, so maybe things will eventually be better in the next few lessons. I will update my review once I finish the course. 🙂
John Burkhead –
Quality information in bite sized chunks!
Jon Em –
Great course.
Steve Cogger –
This is a very well planned out and executed course. I am truly enjoying it and learning a lot. Thank You.
Anubhav Kumar Roy –
the first part of the course and some of the projects were very good and beautifully explained by Cold and Stephen but the node part was unnecessary as this is a javascript course, if someone wanted to learn node he/she could have taken a full course on node js seperately !! The adding of the node part made the course longer than needed.

Well, it has been really educational and it is really clear to learn with Colt, the examples that he gives are accurate and he develops the feeling of go for more information about any topic, so I am rating this course 5/5!
Dennis Morgan –
Clear, wisely selective re material to keep pace lively.
Colin peters –
virtually no coding challenges or quiz’s or ways of seeing progress as you go. you don’t even really build anything until about half way through the course.
Alon Goldsmith –
Colt has this thing that can get your attention, his lessons are passed amusingly
David Makowski –
Just a massive, detailled course. Good Examples!
T.j Prinssen –
Good course, fun teacher. I tried some of the alternatives with similar rating and this one is definitely better in terms of explanation/dryness. Sadly it lacks the one thing that actually counts: tons and tons of exercises to constantly test and solidify what you’ve learned. You can sit passively through all 50+ hours and still have trouble with the basics. Don’t wait, type from the very beginning! So, buy this as it’s very in depth and the explanation is good but pair it with a project based course or look online for beginner exercises.
Pedro Pereira –
Loving it!
Francisco Delgadillo –
One of the best courses out there. I will just add some project challenges and it will be perfect.
Sharon Gershoni –
Colt Steele is a gifted teacher clear, organized and thorough. He makes abstract concept concrete. This is not the first course I take, but a refresher, so I know the information up till now, can compare the teaching here and in other courses. And I deeply appreciate how well it is being delivered by Colt Steele.
Dustin Birch –
Doing a very great job explaining things.
Tolu Lope –
Great course!
