EXPANDED and UPDATED to include new sections on Next JS and Server–Side Rendering!
Welcome to the best online resource for learning React! Published in April 2019, this course is brand new and covers the latest in React. This course follows the exact same React curriculum my in–person bootcamp students follow in San Francisco, where students have gone on to get jobs at places like Google, Apple, Pinterest, & Linkedin. This is the most polished React course online, and it’s the only course that is based on REAL bootcamp curriculum that has been tried and tested in the classroom.
This course builds up concepts one at a time, cementing each new topic with an expertly designed exercise or project to test your knowledge. It includes a huge variety of beautiful exercises, projects, and games that we create together from scratch. Sometimes we mix things up and give you a broken React app and ask you to fix it or optimize the code. Check out the promo video to see a couple of the course exercises. The course culminates in one huge capstone project, which is the largest project I’ve ever built for any of my online courses. I’m really excited about it 🙂

The tile is somewhat misleading to me in my opinion, it does not fully focus on Hooks, Hooks is somewhere in the end. Most of the basic React stuff in this course is already taught by Colt in his ‘The Advanced Web Developer Bootcamp’ so most part of the lecture is redundant. A lot of the time in the tutorial is wasted in refactoring the code. Teaching refactoring is good to give a basic idea but then doing it after a couple of section is annoying. If Colt knew the styles was going to be in material ui jss he should have spent more time getting us writing jss instead of having written 70% of the application in CSS and the making a 20 30min video on refactoring. Sorry to say this course has been a disappointment…
Faizan Ansari –
Best!
Sinae Kim –
Yes. His explain is very clear and step by step, and the exercise is quite good to understand the concept and how to use the methods
Scott Klink –
I am familiar with Colt’s work and would recommend any of his courses. This course has been in my queue for some time, and I am extremely excited to finally start. Thanks
Frijke –
Colt is just great; he explains everything so well. Compared another react course and I was lost… Now I get it 🙂

Stunning! I’ve got to be Colt’s biggest fan. He’s my favorite coding teacher. Explanations are clear, easy to follow, down to earth, NOT heady. Super well organized classes with lots of handouts to supplement learning. Plus exercises to cement it in the brain. I’m actually in a code school now and will study React in class in about a week. Trying to get a head start by using this class. Once class is over, however, I’ll come back to Colt’s course and finish the rest of it. Bravo. Love PURPLE! Donny

Love Colt!!

Helped me get a much better understanding of React, hooks, and context. Most of the course uses class based components. This may be a bit divisive as React has aged since the course was made, but it’s taught in a way that lays the foundation for more React knowledge.

It’s a great course. My only slightly critical feedback is I think the hooks/context/reducers content should be introduced earlier and incorporated into the big colors project. I understand that would involve redoing the entire course so I get why it isn’t. But this is regardless a great way to get a handle on React

Colt is such a great teacher, he always says everything from a pespective that makes you understand deeply the content
Trung Nguyen –
I enjoyed every single bits of this course. I can remake the final project from scratch with hooks ( with only 2 3 times looking back the resource). My React skills definitely becomes a lot better. Also got a job offer too!! Colt is definitely one heck of an instructor.
Calvin Roberts –
Great content as usual! Very thorough & easy to understand.
Rob Barber –
I completed a web development course with Codecademy but after the tutorials I felt a bit lost starting my own projects. I’m using this to help get going again.
Federico Lemaire –
Like all Colt’s courses that I have, this one is as good as the others
Philip Iparaguirre –
I am in currently in a Bootcamp and learned React this week…well they tried to teach it and so far only a few videos in already have a stronger grasp of React than I got in a class room
Chance Harmon –
Yes, I have been through a boot camp before that included React, but it was so fast mixed with a million other topics that I do not feel confident using it on my own.
Santiago Sanchez –
They guy is great.. clear explanations and very thoughtfull exercises to prove the point.
Harish Krishnan –
As usual colt steele nailed this course
Awa Danfa –
Not designed at all for beginners.
Padmalatha Somashiandan –
Very good ! Stressing the fact that React is all about composing is so essential !
Bazi Sihame –
Easy to understand and to follow the steps. Thank you.
Matthias Etchegaray –
Came here for the hooks course only. It’s too fast to code along, teacher is making me feel in a rush to catch what he’s saying up and I don’t like it.
Kelly –
I really like Steele’s teaching style. This has been a great fit for me so far.
Kagan Ulucay –
He can teach anything by keeping things simple and not confusing!
Grant Wielgosz –
I’m really excited to learn this. Colt’s delivery and material are next to none.
Benjamin Critoph –
Very easy to understand lectures
Roshan John –
Colt Steele changed my life. His web developer Bootcamp was mindblowing. Initially, I was skeptical about buying an online course when you can learn from Youtube but after learning from Colt I understood the value of paid courses
Tin –

Colt is the best instructor, bar none. Keep him around.
Ilias Tzagkarakis –
I am in an entry level in programming and i am trying myself (actually with a little help from mr Colt) to learn some stuff. He is doing great in all of his courses, nice structure, nice apps and even nice jokes about chickens! I hope that you will continue your excellent teaching!
Sachin kumar –
yeahh.. it looks great. i am here to learn react. after seeing your explanation i think i would become a master of react 🙂
Tom Seidita –
Colt has a great way of explaining concepts and walking through them step by step. There’s often a tendancy in coding tutorials to just mindlessly copy code off of the other screen, Colt walks you through the process of building something, code starts like this, grows to that, and finishes like another thing. It is extremely valuableto understand and has helped me in coding my own projects.
Temitope Pinheiro –
It s colt man, he doesn t miss
Elsa Tarrago –
I also followed the Web developper bootcamp, and in both courses Colt Steele is a fantastic teacher.
Agustin Yael Gonzalez Medellin –
even though the course’s main focus seems to be class components, I understood perfectly the hooks. great instructor.
Hologram 42 –
Really liked the react router part. Tough time getting questions answered, though. Can’t expect too much though for only paying 13 bucks.
Aman Tulsyan –
Th best react course I have ever done it has the right amount of practice oriented approach
