Web Accessibility: Learn the best practises

Students will learn how to use HTML and CSS to build accessible components. Accessibility is an often missed, yet essential part of web development that every web developer should understand, no matter what stage they’re at in their career.

This class is ideal for developers with some prior HTML and CSS knowledge that want to learn the fundamentals of how to build a fully accessible website. Not only will you understand the practical features that are built into HTML, but also what good web accessibility means to many people of varying disabilities. We’ll touch on accessibility guidelines and also the different levels that you should adhere to as a web developer.

With the skills learned in this class, you’ll be able to build an all–inclusive website that features accessible elements that ensure a perfect user experience is had by all. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to offer so much more as a web developer and be able to use your accessibility knowledge in all future web projects. You’ll also be able to get involved in the planning stage of projects, by imparting your new–found accessibility knowledge to the interface and UX designers in your team.
