What’s New in Java 8: Lambdas

Yaroslav Frantsev –
Too much theory that nobody needs, no actual useful practical examples of lambda usage, no clear description of lambdas advantage over traditional code is given. I have not learned anything useful from this at all
Sharunas Kovanas –
Very informative and useful, the pace is rather intensive though; difficult to digest in one go especially when the more complicated stuff starts.
Danil Rusakov –
Great!
Padraig Rochford –
The quizes could be spaced out more evenly, the test at the end covered most of the content.
Kevin Robbins –
I gave this two and half because it might help some people, but I’m not one of them. I admit that Lambdas are very difficult for me which is why I need a good beginner level class. This is not it. I just got more confused until I reached about the middle and at that point I was lost and I bailed out. I want the basics of reading and writing Lambdas. That’s all. I don’t care about type erasure across different versions of Java. I don’t care what the bytecode looks like. These things don’t help. This class should also have frequent exercises. Small, simple, but numerous.
David Reece –
informative

Very useful, good content but the instructor sounds like a robot rattling off facts. Hard to engage.
Evgeniy Habibov –
I was looking for distinct J8 lambdas course and found it. Small improvement: it’s great native accent (which is rarity here) but it would be wonderful in case author would pronounce words a bit clearly. In such cases subtitles help me but not in this time. Anyway, it’s great.

Wow!

Very good explanations. Excellent diction. Clear examples. No wasted time. This one is really good. If you’re looking to understand lambdas and know Java to some extent, this is your course!
Felix Medina –
Although some of the knowledge regarding lambdas and functional programming is highly academic (boring) the instructor manages to convey clear and engaging examples regarding lambdas in Java 8

So far.
