I have been teaching WordPress for around 15 years and recently asked a group of my students:
What do you think is missing from most WordPress courses, that YOU feel all WordPress users need to know.
This course is the result of that questionnaire.
If you have a working knowledge of WordPress, but want to learn more and become a better website developer, then this course can help.
This course does not teach you how to use WordPress. That much is assumed.
This course includes more information on :
WordPress files on your server and how to access them with FTP or through cPanel.
Child themes and how to create them.
WordPress pages including parent–child relationships, page templates, template hierarchy, conditional statements, custom page templates and custom post templates.
Why redirects are important and how to use them successfully.
HTTP to HTTPS conversion on web hosts that support Let’s Encrypt.
Improving page load times by optimizing your site, and checking your site is mobile–friendly.
Design stuff like Themes, Dynamic Widgets, Custom Sidebars, Jump Links, Page Builders & Favicons.
The Media Library and image galleries.
WordPress Users and roles. Your’ll also learn how to create your own roles.
GDPR and how to ensure you are compliant.

This course is exactly at the right speed and at the right level for me after doing Andy s initial courses in WordPress. I m following along nicely, and surprised at how relevant it is.

Great so far, learnt loads already, I feel as though the course content covers loads of things that I’ve been looking to learn all in one place. Can’t wait to finish it!

So, far. I have only done one other course on WordPress, so this is covering things I didn’t know.

I loved the beginner course by Andrew Williams. He explains things well and at a good pace. I created a beautiful website for my former employer and it actually led to another job offer, which I accepted. I am looking forward to learning all I can about WordPress! JC

Simple explanations for complex topics. This course is so in depth the price is a joke. Worth a lot more!

Andy does a good job going through the topics covered in this course, in particular the section about GDPR, but the truth is the title of this course is misleading: there’s nothing intermediate taught in this course. All lectures just felt like Andy spread too thin resulting in many topics covered too briefly and too much focus on the basics. This includes one of the greatest recent additions which is the Gutenberg editor, and looking only at the most painfully obvious and intuitive features it has… I agree that Elementor is the main builder these days but then again, nothing more than the basics, and nothing that can’t be done with Gutenberg either. I’d expect at least some mention of Gutenberg + Advanced Custom Fields, or even the possibility to create your own custom blocks! Overall, I think the main takeways of this course are the GDPR section and the different plugins that are used for those who are just starting and don’t have any reference on what to use. But then again it should’ve been mentioned that more plugins means more work for your server, and more exposed to security vulnerabilities (which is the #1 reason of all WordPress hacks). Unfortunately I cannot recommend this course for anyone who is looking to advanced their knowledge of WordPress, but for those starting out at best.

Andy is very informative, clear and concise with this course and well planned & structured. I would definitely recommend this course.
Gene Baldassari –
Well Structured. Well presented. Easy to understand. Instructor is knowledgeable about the subject. Recommended if you wish this WordPress level.
Fabrizzio Gonzales Zurita –
It is a very good course. Lots of useful information. I did not give it 5 stars for some topics that were not very useful for my personal purposes and other topics that I wished were introduced such as e commerce, landing sites and emails to subscribers. Anyhow, a very good course. Thank you, Andy!
Ted Lyszczarz –
This course is ideal for taking your skills beyond the beginner level. It covers a wide range of technical topics and provides a satisfying learning experience. The course is unique in that it shows how to accomplish tasks manually by editing files, and automatically by using plug ins. The instructor uses a step by step approach to demonstrate each technique. This course will inspire you to take your web development to the next level.

This is a very thorough course on WP. You will gain a lot insights. I have been through some lessons several times since their subject was new tome. Andy explains everything in an orderly and clear fashion. The technical quality is also very good. Andy calls this intermediate skills. If he ever creates a WP advanced course I am not sure I dare to take it! I recommend this course without hesitation.
Robin Panzer –
yes.
Barrie Evans –
I love this course because it makes me think. The thoughts I have are all ideas on how to improve my sites using what I have learned, so it’s great for me!
Ian Webster –
Very engaging course with good information including a lot of general website configuration and management content.
Vince Livecchi –
He moves along at a good clip… Could use a bit more meat, but that’s what the Q&A is for I suppose…
Pravat Kumar Choudhury –
all good.
Laura cebrian –
Excellent
Nancy Fox –
Andy Williams is extremely knowledgeable and covers topics with enough information to get me started. Some of it is presented very quickly, so I find myself rewinding occasionally. I have gone from no knowledge to good in a short time, which is what I hoped for. Also, he answers questions promptly. Love that the course is available in perpetuity because I have gone back and re watched several sections when I am ready to implement. Priceless.
Cristiano De Lucrezia –
