Tells you exactly what to do but all of this information could be found on youtube for free. But this is also for Minecraft version 1.11.2 so it is more relevant than most of the videos you would find on youtube.

Too little explanations it s just copy my code and it will work, but it s impossible to understand why we we have to do any of the steps the author takes. Plus, there are some code that just appears, like the proxy propertie.

Most details seem to be covered but at times I’ve found myself having to look at the included resource files because some of the code was skipped in the video.

As a parent of a Minecraft addict, I was attracted to this course by its title. The course is very well structured, and the lecturer makes a good effort to keep things clear. Unfortunately, making Minecraft mods is not a simple task. Various programs need to be downloaded and installed, you need to run the command prompt and type things like gradlew setupDecompWorkspace eclipse, and create environment variables in the Windows control panel. I copied the lecturer step by step, fixed mistakes I made like installing the latest version of the Forge JDK instead of an older one (so as to be compatible with a program called Eclipse), but eventually gave up 32% into the course on Section 4, lecture 15, before I had even started writing my first mod. Why? Something to do with my working directory not existing. It was the last in a series of frustrations when all I wanted to do was write some code. I suggest the lecturer include troubleshooting sections and review the steps that need to be completed for something to run properly. Otherwise, I can only recommend this course to people with prior development experience.

For my son, this part of the process was very boring for him to sit through. For myself, It was very informative and easy to follow. I think it would have been better to address the installs to be done before engaging the children.
