In this course, students will learn the basic core components of building 3D models using Blender 2.8 and Unity 2018.2. The lessons contained within the course allow the student to gradually learn important tools used for everyday modeling, while providing simple objects to practice on which give the tools more meaning through practical hands on experience.

As the course progresses, you’ll be introduced to new tools, and then given the task of creating a simple prop that makes use of the new information you have acquired while continuing to reinforce previously learned material all along the journey.

By the end of this course, you should be able to construct basic 3D props for your Unity Prototype Games. With enough practice and experience, you’ll be well on your way to publishing your first game.

Instructor Details

I started on my creative journey over 30 years ago as a musician. Through the decades, I have picked up a wide variety of skills, with over 20 years as an accomplished website developer, programmer, graphics artist, photographer, journalist, published author, video game developer, 3D modeler and animator! I have done lots of work for a wide variety of business over the years. In recent years, I have taken to Unity for game development with five games published on Steam so far. I'm very excited to be a full time game developer, and equally pleased to pass down some of my knowledge to you! My friends describe me as a highly driven individual with a wide range of skills, capable of doing anything. I describe myself as curious, intuitive, sincere and above all.. honest.

I’m a developer with small knowledge about 3D modeling and this course is just what I needed! It is simple, straightfoward and gives me all the tools to begin modelling my own models. Thanks a lot and keep teaching.

Having subtitles would be helpful as I usually watch tutorials on faster speeds. Too long lecture gets me sleepy.

Narrator goes through it a little slow, but it’s not bad by any means. I assume it only seems slow to me since I’m just coming from another modeling package (3ds Max) but a true beginner would probably find the pacing excellent.

This course is a good Blender primer but his earlier course took you through building many more assets which I was hoping this course would do as well but doesn’t

Course delivered on everything it said it would. I appreciate how Billy took the time to explain the why as well as the what. Also, I liked how he would often show common errors someone may make when attempting to complete the task at hand. Can’t really find too much to fault. I will be checking out your other courses provided they are up to date. Thank you Billy!

Everything was covered in detail, for the low poly props, easy to follow instruction with nice techniques for design and modeling. The Radio voice will remind you of Casey Kasem, soothing away any Blender fears you may have, and easing you into some good Blender skills.

I had been playing around with youtube tutorials before I started this, so many things in this segment I kind of knew how to do, but this was much more in depth and helped me with many of the technical issues where I just couldn’t figure out on my own.

I had been playing around with youtube tutorials before I started this, so I had a patchy base to work with, but I found this course to be both in depth, but easy to follow. It helped me with many of the technical issues other tutorials glossed over.

Very detailed and fairly easy to follow. Liked how we used the key combinations over and over for each project until they are now locked into my mind. Really enjoyed making the 3D objects and this instructor.
