Instructor Details

Michael A. Rudowsky, Founder of MAR Software Technologies LLC has thirty plus years experience working in information technology and has been passionate about computers since the late 1970's. In the early 1980's Michael mastered UNIX and C programming languages and served as the CO-OP student with Revlon Inc. After graduation Michael was offered a full-time position involving mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2. At the COMDEX exhibitions in Las Vegas, the largest computer trade show in the world, Michael represented Revlon. He was responsible for the review of new hardware and software solutions for the company. As one of the first beta testers for Realia COBOL, Michael enabled COBOL and CICS applications to run on IBM PCs. He worked closely with BARR systems to enable PC's to dial up and act as the Mainframe printer from any remote location. These two technologies allowed him to develop the first PC application to run on IBM PC in the production environment at Revlon. In the 1990 s, Michael moved into consulting, working with several of the fortune 500 companies like: Merrill Lynch, Johnson and Johnson, Merck and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He got involved in Client Server, Web Applications, Database Design and Data Warehousing projects. In 1999 he accepted an employee position at MetLife where he moved into management leveraging his technical abilities to work on company strategic projects. In 2004, he moved to American International Group and got involved with Architecture Design, Process Improvement, Data Center Consolidation, Office Virtualization and Disaster Recovery. One of his biggest accomplishments at AIG was the planning and delivery of Next Generation Booking Service which consolidated the booking function across several underwriting applications in the organization. In 2014, Michael started MAR Software Technologies based on a vision that every single one of us has the ability to learn how to program. If you can read, you can program! App Development is an incredible empowering skill to learn. He wants to inspire as many people as he can. To bring out your creativity and to empower you to pass it forward to inspire others. He believes together we can plant the seed of knowledge that can grow and make a difference in people's life's. Michael is committed to this vision and he will play his small part to make this happen. Michael graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from Centenary College in 2013 and A.A.S. in Computer Science from Middlesex County College in 1984.

This is a really really good course. Michael knows his stuff, and the best part is he is doing only one app (he doesn’t have rush to cram in 20 apps with superficial knowledge transfer), so he goes into depths of developing the app in the best way, with industry best practice guidance and tips on performance and usability / modular approach, also making it generic so that the components are reusable. These principles can be used in other app development projects also. And then, when I thought it was already done very nicely and efficiently, he goes back in the later parts for code review and further optimises the app and cleans up the code. I enjoyed this course, this is the course I will be coming back to again and again. The growing community and the keen interest and engagement from other members to learn and contribute is another big plus. Very well presented, well done, I look forward to more tutorials from you in future.

This was a great course to get a more detailed perspective on both Swift and iOS programming in general. There are a lot of beginner courses out there to get started, but not enough advanced courses, so this was a nice opportunity to get deeper into the weeds, and evolve a lot of the basic skills obtained in previous courses. Additionally, Michael has wonderful enthusiasm about the material, and is genuinely excited about sharing his knowledge, and driving home the important points as he covers them, this makes all the difference in the world.

The instructor teaches in the way that I learn objectives first, clear explanations of implementations and clear, concise review of previous lesson. He provides the information in the right order for effective learning. Doing the challenges reinforces the lectures. Great course. I’d like to see him teach a server side course using the Perfect Swift api that is currently in ongoing development and put the two courses together for a Client Server course covering both sides of development.

The content is really good but there is way too much rehashing. No need to both sum things up at the end of a lesson AND then start next lesson by repeating same things. Suggest you just have the summary at the end of the lessons. Then the beginning of the lessons can focus on the coming subject. All in all one of the best courses out there. Well worth your time and money!

Michael doesn’t just tell his students to click or type something. He teaches us to learn for ourselves. Like he says: Learn By Doing & Take Your App Building Skills to the Next Level. Here are more reasons to purchase this 5 star course. 1) 30% of Michael’s students place a review, compared to instructors with 10,000 to 102,000 students & only 3% of them click a star. 2) 50% of Michael’s students give a written, personal, thoughtful comment (not just clicking a star), compared to less than 1% for those other instructors. 3) 96% of Michael’s students give a 4 or 5 star. The other courses have a lot more 1, 2 or 3 star reviews. 4) Read his 5 star reviews for yourself. There are only two 4 star written comments & no comments with less than 4 stars. 5) 13% of his lectures are free to watch. So, listen to them and decide who’s a better instructor. Don’t settle for less.

The course is really very good I am feeling good that I took this course. pros Everything is explained conceptually Use of Slides and diagrams for explaining things Pace of course is perfect Teacher is very engaging Teacher is very encouraging he encourages you to try new things and understand things properly. cons I was having problems in reachability section and I am reached here and I hadn’t added reachability to my app because I was facing problem there I tried lot to resolve it but it only resulted in wasting time I wasted lot of time on it. Support can be improved, I had taken courses on Udemy which are offering better support then this course. Bit outdated, but is not a problem if you know even basics like if you want to use Swift 3 then you can face some problems due to syntax change like I had to study multi treading from other sources because of changes in swift 3. but this won’t be a problem you can continue in Swift2.3 and if you want to do it in Swift 3 then you can follow my repo(URL is given below) which I had made in Swift 3 which is having all the code with Swift3. https://github.com/mitesh504/Music Video Player I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE THE COURSE IT’S WORTH THE MONEY.
